Lots of times I see steelbook/ironpak cases for Bluray Movies and Video Games come out for other countries and wish they would have come out here in the US. As soon as I saw the one for lion king and pirates I bought them. Maybe it would help to boost movie and game purchases. I would have bought the other Disney movies if I had known they were coming out here in the US. I know Video games are more studio specific for collector's editions and stuff like that , but it would be really awesome if we didn't have to shop from futureshop in Canada or Amazon in Europe to get these steelbooks/ironpak. Thanks for considering.
agree more steelbooks is good BB is the leading B&M electronics in the US so that should be enuf to get more BB exclusives especially if pre-orders + sales increase. I guess it all comes down to the #'s but this could also be tied into the BB Movies/Music/Media club thus strengthening/building both at the same time. With more perks BB would then have complete advantage over all other B&M retailers along with reason to shop BB over web retailers too that wouldn't get the exclusives.
Being in the US is is very frustrating seeing some of the wonderful things Future Shop offers that r not available here. I am especially speaking for blu-rays in steelbook type packaging. While we seem to get few steelbooks on new release here in the US, many other countries seem to offer them on all the biggest releases. What we seem to get from Best Buy instead, is the recent release of steelbooks (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, etc) in the form of double dips. I shouldnt have to buy a blu-ray twice to get the packaging I want. I shouldnt have to try to circumvent the Future Shop policy of not shipping outside Canada.
Simply, Best Buy needs to offer more Future Shop exclusives to their US customers. If there is a reason u dont want to stock them in stores at the very least u could offer them here as online exclusives. As I sit and drool at the beautiful Avengers Steelbook offered by Future Shop for release in September I really have to wonder why Best Buy keeps letting me down.
not to mention for several exclusive steelbooks (zero dark thirty, captain phillips, robocop, etc.) availability in-store was extremely limited or non-existent because stores got fewer than five copies, and yet i can order as many as i want from bestbuy.com, where they have the risk of getting damaged during shipping. it would be great if they could be brought back (like the les miserables and snow white and the huntsman steels).
same goes for all exclusives, really; it's unnecessary to make them exclusive AND limited time, just keep the exclusive as a regular product (like the wizard of oz 3d or hobbit: an unexpected journey steelbooks). pretty sure people would still choose your exclusive after the release week.
