Piggyback New & Used Videogame Sales

The premise is simple, design GCU around the strengths of your program for each phase of GCU including new & used game purchases.

In principal, you would sell a new game & get the same game traded back in while the demand is high for it. And then sell it again used with a higher profit margin on the back end.

Basic example for a non GCU customer

1- They pay $60 on day 1

2- They trade the game in w/i 30 day of it`s release

Basic example for a GCU customer

1- They pay $48 on day 1

2- They trade the game in w/i 30 days of it`s release

This is how you defeat Gamestop

To get any of these benefits the new game had to be pre-ordered at BB

1- Guaranteed at least $30 minimun trade in value w/i 30 days of release

2- $5 bonus added to select trades on new games purchased w/i 30 days of release

3- 10% GCU trade in bump increases to 20% new games purchased w/i 30 days of release

Being able to secure this trade in cycle will allow you to truly strengthen GC.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea

I dont game online. So unless it is sandbox I complete the campaigns 3 or 4 times then the game becomes drink coaster. I would be more likely to return games and buy new ones if I got more money back. I am too lazy to deal with a gamefly approach, so this would be a good thing for someone like me.

If the short version is that by buying a new game we get a higher guaranteed trade in for a certain length of time I am all for it.

I'd even support the idea if pre-ordering the game was part of the requirement.

Do this and expand the $10 certificate with pre-order purchase and Best Buy would hook me for not only most of my planned day one purchases but plenty of "ehh, why not" type of purchases as well.
