Allow customers to make purchases online and pick up inside or outside of the store from an automated locker. Just scan the QR code that you recieve on your smart phone and retreive your order. No more waiting in line or being restricted to store hours.
This would raise the stores liability and an idea like this may raise Best Buy's insurance premiums or whatever happens in the event of a loss of merchandise from a vandalism from such locker outside.
The prices on merchandise would most likely go up too due to the risk this idea poses.
Nice idea but I am 100% behind hockeycanuckjc on this.
It greatlly increases the risk of swindle and would end up causing issues.
It would not take to long before someone purchased something, came in and picked it up, and then came back and started complaing that their was nothing in their locker. etc...
However, Best Buy already has something similar. Home Delivery, shipped right to your home.
I think this is a very interesting idea, but very high risk for the security of our merchandise, and most importantly, the protection of our customer's private information. I don't foresee that we would pursue this idea.
Apex Anywhere lockers don't require the use of any customer information. Typically video surveillance is used to deter guests from tampering with our devices or making false claims, but no system is flawless. These systems allow for same day online order retrieval at no additional cost to the consumer and an increased efficiency to the retailer.
So you must be a representative/sales rep for Apex Anywhere and this is your attempt at solicting for business on the Best Buy IdeaX site.
Wow what a shill attempt at spamming. Now Best Buy won't do business with them for sure.
Spam or not still to much of a high risk venture in any event.
What a fabulous avenue for credit card theft. Steal a credit card number, have a throw away phone, puchase something, get the code on your phone, get the product anonymously. Repeat.
Show me how to fit my 65" TV in a locker and I'd listen
As a Best Buy customer, the ability to Buy Online and Pick Up In Store (BOPIS) via a Locker System is long overdue at Best Buy.
Each time I have made a Best Buy purchase online to pick-up at my local Best Buy (so as not to have the package stolen from my front porch), I have stood at the unattended pick-up counter for several minutes while watching other customers get immediate attention as they pay for the items they selected inside the store. (Same problem at my local Walmart.)
If Best Buy had a Locker System, even if it was inside the store, I could just walk in, scan my code from my phone, and pick up my order without waiting for an employee.
