I love the direction that the gamers club is headed & have been supporting it from day 1 but there's a severe blind spot that BB has towards PC gamers. The @gamer coupons need to be edited to include PC titles along with the console versions too. And there should be more total coupons/deals focused on PC gamers. BB is to be THE place to buy games so service ALL types of gamers & enjoy the sales across the board.
As an avid console and PC gamer, being able to choose particpate in special offers on PC games would be great. I too was dissapointed to see the PC version of Max Payne 3 not on the offer.
Ultimately, every fall I buy anywhere from 5-10 games, and I always go to the place with the best value for doing so, or failing that, good pre-order bonuses.
Last year I bough almost enough games to qualify for 2 gift cards, had I been eligible to do so. Now, last year, while I had a PC, it wasn't that good. First thing I did this year was buy all the parts to make a really great gaming PC.
I saw this promo, and was excited, as Kmart did get a bit of money from me last year as they ran a similar promotion for all new release games for almost a full year period. Because of this, I chose to shop there over a Best Buy.
Then I saw the promotion this year, and was really happy. I'm not a gamer's club unlocked member, choosing to just buy a random mag if a deal is too good to pass up. However, I was fully willing to take the plunge and join up, until I myself found out about the lack of PC support. I got this last year when I picked up Call of Duty at the midnight release, and they had to go in the back and make people wait further because they just didn't have PC copies up front.
Looking at this, I can't help but think there really is some kind of PC gaming bias, and it's kept me from buying as much as I would have also being a reward zone silver member.
Ultimately, I'd love to subscribe and put all the preorders for it, but I'm seemingly not allowed to. Do you understand that sites like Cheapassgamer.com and others are favorited by a lot of people to get good gaming deals, and we base our shopping exclusively from that? Heck, that's where I first learned about this promotion to begin with. We're going to buy these games anyway, but we're going to buy them that gives us the best value. With the promotion available to the PC market, it was Best Buy, by far. Now, it's not. Take that for what you will.
Had the Max Payne 3 coupon been for PC also I would have used it and bought MP3. But instead I'll probably just wait and get it from some online retailer like Amazon, Steam, GMG.
Well, the deal of the day did not include NFS The Run for PC. GameFly has it a dollar cheaper for download but most times I dont mind paying a few bucks more for a hard copy.
Another silver member here that buys my games elsewhere due to this. I'll pick up the occasional console game that is not cross-platform to PC (2 in the last 2 years?) from bestbuy, but I try to buy everything PC that I can, so I go where the deals are (amazon, steam, greenmangaming)
I also have not bothered with gamer's club unlocked since the deals are never for PC. I would pick it up in an instant if this was the case.
Just today, I was looking at the Max Payne special edition. The console versions have $10 savings, the PC version does not. So, I'll pass. Still yet to understand why that is.
I buy at least 1 "new release/pre-order" PC game a month, and multiple "deals" if the price strikes me right.
Another consumer here disappointed at lack of PC support. I was excited for a bit to see the various preorder deals, however hopes were shot down with no mention of PC... Here's to hoping that BB soon includes PC titles in their various promotions.
So I was doing some scavenging around the site and found premium for the Xbox360 and PS3 versions, but I was surprised it wasn't available for PC (Windows). Other DLCs are offered for the PC so why not premium?
