I've been at Best Buy for about 2.5 months and, as it being holiday season, I'm thinking of my employee discount. To receive our employee discount, we can either buy in-store or by calling a phone number to make our order. I think it would be awesome if we could do the orders online by having an employee link or something where we can log in (via employee login information) and make purchases. Has this been talked or thought about before? Is there any chance of this happening?

This would be fantastic since their is so many other products online that are not found in stores.

Unfortunately when a product is purchased with the employee discount you must show ID. So their would have to be away to scan the barded on drivers licenses to prevent discount abuse/ fraud/ stolen employee info. This is probable possible and I believe worth it but employees would have to pay more than 5% above cost online or at least pay shipping or the company would probably loose money . I personally would pay shipping and 10% above cost too receive an on line discount.

This would be fantastic for future holiday seasons for sure! With the expansion of the dot com, it would be great to start actually utiliziing the marketplace fully.

As an employee myself I have to say I would also love to see this as a reality. Not sure what the challenges would be to get this done, but I have to assume this has already been contemplated. I would love to hear from other employees on this idea. Keep in mind this is a public forum, and internal information should not be discussed. Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

This should be done through the E-Go site, as this is already considered a secure company portal, with a simple re-direct bach to .COM for product lookups, etc.  NOT a big hairy deal for high-powered corporate website support programmers.

Everything we see online in our website, but we don't have in our store. How about a way for employees to use the employee discounts on the website but we have to sign in with our employee numbers and password. Our have our own Best Buy employee store website. Same rules as fallows only can use our credit cards and our information only. This is just an idea because usually I hear employees saying wish I can get that product but we can't because we don't carry it or find a store who does, instead of going to another outside stores giving them our business instead have it here in Best buy.

The only issue I can see with this idea is the fact that it would be to easy to share your employee information with friends and family so they may use your discount as well.

Why not only make employee discount available for store pick up where they can check I.d.

thats not much of an issue the easiest way to solve this problem is setting up a credit card or pay card thats tied into ur I.D # and can only be used by u and if needed changed at the store u work at

Why not offer "pay what we pay" offers the way other retailers do sometimes. This would be a nice elite plus shopping event weekend promo.

Although you still can't use your employee discount on www.bestbuy.com, you can now use your employee discount online at the mobile version of our website of m.bestbuy.com. I would suggest first adding the items you want to buy on www.bestbuy.com, and then checkout on m.bestbuy.com.
