Notify members of their Elite status standing in advance

I would like to suggest that you provide advance notification to the customer (email) that their elite status is changing effective on mmddyy unless they spend xx amount between now and then. If that’s occurring I didn’t see it. So recently I lost my elite status.

I have no idea how close I was to hitting the $ goal for elite or that the renewal or assessment occurred every February. I could have been within 50 bucks or something and would have been happy to make an early purchase to meet it so I could renew.

We hear you. We do provide the terms of the program when a customer signs up for it, and it should state in the terms when their status could change each year and why. Thanks for sharing your thougths on this.

Thanks but you do understand that the customer can’t possibly keep track of all their purchases manually? So giving the customer the terms is not enough. They then need to ensure they spend x amount in some window of time? Big spenders aren’t a problem. They may always qualify year to year. Anyway that’s what systems are made to do. Monitor and track this stuff so people don’t have to. Your system must track it because it knows when to cut people off. A customer friendly approach is to also give your customer this info automatically in advance. It will help you and the customer!

@jdjax, I hear you on that. At this time we will not be proactively informing customers that their My Best Buy status will be changing.

It actually shows you when you log in with a few clicks.  You don't need to keep track of your purchases. Best Buy does it automatically.

Great that’s exactly what I was looking for! I’ve never seen this and I literally look at the site daily and I’ve been elite for several years until I just lost it. Not sure where or how you got to that...but I’ll look around. Of course now that I’m not elite not sure what to expect! Thanks

Well I still don’t see that. I always use the iPhone app though. Are you perhaps seeing this on the full site? I never go to the full site on a PC. If you can see it on the app, kindly share where you see this. Thanks

I use the web site via a browser. It has actually been there for years.

 

To get to on the phone app

 

Log into the phone app and select your account icon in the lower right corner.

 

The second section is membership.

The second choice in Membership is Rewards.

by default it shows how much your have for reward certificates.

Select Rewards

 

The first section will be for issuing of certificates.

Right below that it will show how much you have spent in the current membership year.

Ok great thanks! You know I’ve been to that page to see my rewards many times and just never realized by scrolling down the information I’ve been asking for is right there below the reward info. Thanks again.
