No more waiting - Instant RZ points posts w/nno risk to BestBuy

I fully understand why it WAS necessary to have to wait 30 days for RZ points to post but there's a simple way for this to be resolved without putting BB at risk for fraud/exploitation.

 

Add an option to the MYRZ.com site that would allow a customer to forfeit the ability to return it completely in return for the RZ points posting immediately. Also, there should be a way to complete this in-store as well. Exchanges however should be allowed but only for the SAME PRODUCT & it would have to be DEFECTIVE. In cases where the defective item is no longer in-stock it would still require a managers override anyways so they would need to use good judgment in both protecting BB & providing good fair customer service. Store credit towards for an equivalent product for an even exchange or towards an upgraded product in which the customer would be responsible for covering the additional remaining balance would suffice. But since the managers SHOULD have been trained correctly in the matters of customer service this really shouldn't be an issue should it?

 

The system should require NO LESS THAN 4 CONFIRMATIONS(2 to begin the forfeit process & 2 more to accept the RZ points). This way there's ZERO EXCUSE that can be made of a person accidentally completing the forfeit process & not being aware of what they were doing.

 

I think this fairly protects BB's interest along with offering another reason to shop @ BB for convenience, customer service & overall value..

Also, this should be taken further to included all other promos like the gamers club $20 RZ points offers. Once a customer picks up the pre-ordered title they can forfeit the ability to return it on the spot & the $20 giftcard would prompt the cashier to scan it. If a person doesn't do it on the spot the forfeit can be done thru the myrz site & the $20 would post in 24 hrs on the RZ site.

 

The faster points post the faster a person can continue to spend which works out better for both BB & the customer. What happens when there's an item that goes on sale 2 weeks before the points will post could be a no sale, customer loses & BB loses.

I fully support this. Waiting 30 days after picking up the final of my 5 full priced pre orders last year was definately nerve wrecking. That was the 5/100 deal, but i know many more people would get in on these preorder deals if the points/certs showed up alot faster. Bestbuy making us wait 30 days with videogames now adays you might as well wait for a price drop.  Thanks Enuf for always being the great unofficial CAG/Bestbuy Rep.

I also support this--the immediate RZ points would definitely motivate customers to buy more Best Buy products and it would eliminate the nerve-wracking experience(s) noted by Velo214. Thanks for posting this, Enuf.

I have to admit I really like this idea. I do have to wonder if the logistics of our systems would allow this, but as they say "where there's a will, there's a way". Any other thoughts on this idea?

I like this idea but it would take a while to implement. In the mean time maybe it should be an offer where you get a $20 gift card instore IF that transaction has all the required items as follows...

 

1. $60 game that is part of the promo

2. SKU return of the pre-order? (or automatically dectected through RZ card?)

3. Your RZ card with Gamers Club Unlocked

 

If the transaction meets all these requirements it would then be applied as a special bundle and have the cashier issue you a $20 GC right there

 

Something definitely need to be done because ive never recieved my pre-order bonuses or gift cards through normal procedue this I should have.  Hipefully something that works 100% off the time get implemented

At this point I'm sure you're aware of the recent rash of exploits that have taken place b/c of the system letting BB down. With that being said it maybe cost effective over the short & long term to update the system across the board from the ground up. It's a cost of doing business unfortunately but you have to see how bad this looks. BB is the leading electronics retailer & their electronic system is letting them down that's not going to provide a customer with good piece of mind.

I do hear what you're saying. As you can imagine the larger the company gets the more difficult and costly it becomes to make changes to their business model. With that said, we are always looking for ways to improve.

Then it would seem that there needs to be more profit producing ideas that have low start up cost & high revenue potential preferrably over the short term to help move some of the loftier goals along.

 

I'd love to communicate with your promo dept. there's several things that can be done w/i 2-3 months that increase both foot & web traffic, add significant(+30%) @gamer subscriptions & increadse big ticket purchases.
