I was once told that people came to Best Buy to find out about the Newest and Greatest gadgets. When I walk into a Best Buy store I walk into pretty much every other store. Best Buy has a chance right now to get back to their roots somewhat inexpensively by adding a tab to the Best Buy website that is dedicated to What's New. Whether its new tech or just new product with bigger and better features. Use this area to give those curious buyers an idea of what these new prodcuts can do for them. Lets get a Blue Shirt in every home with access to the internet!

I could see the potential value in this idea. Would anyone else like to see this tab added to Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

I can see where you are coming from, and a whats new tab might be cool on the navbar. The only "stay up to date" type of thing I know about is the blog section such as this

When I was checking out the Best Buy website there were a few things I as interested in buying but I had already told myself those items could wait. What I wanted was something new, something that might make my life a little easier. But how do I find that for which I do not know that I am looking for. I had an itch to buy a toy, I just needed some ideas for what I wanted. Needless to say I bought nothing because I had no direction.

As the website stands I feel it is pretty great, If you know what you are looking for or at least have a pretty good idea. My Idea is one that could possibly drive traffic and generate additional sales.

In 90's Circuit City was a major Best Buy competitor.  They made a point of highlighting and educating their sales people every month on the newest technology.

it generated a lot of excitment in the customers to hear a rumor about something and then go into CC and either see it or at least have a sales person who could talk about it and was excited about it.

Unlike the 90's... there's YouTube and a much bigger use of Internet for research today.

Yes, reps should be knowledgeable.  However, I can find much better information online.  Perhaps have a manufacturer day where they could travel from store to store in each region.

Best Buy has so many products... it's very challenging to train staff to know everything.
