Need "Available In Store Now" option on the BestBuy.com web site

I was trying to find an SSD that I purchase from a near by Best Buy store the same day.  Unfortunately, after fishing around for a while trying to find one that was in stock in a near by store, I gave up and ordered one from Amazon.  I had it the next morning.  If there had been a way to limit my search to only items available at stores near me, I would have just gone to the store picked it up.  I would prefer to support my local store, but it is currently time consuming and difficult to tell what is actually on the shelf at a particular store.

Status: We Did It!

Thanks for the input on this idea. This is now an option on BestBuy.com.

I believe this idea was posted in the past, and didn't get much traction. I personally think it would be a great idea. Would anyone else like to see this as an option? Make sure to vote for an idea if you like it.

allan is correct this idea has been posted before. But it really is a big issue and really should get implemented. However did not Best Buys web site have good near you inventory levels a few years ago. I remember buying my Xbox and going to the store a near my office rather then the one near my house because it said it was in stock there.

I think this would be nice to have, but I also do not think it would work. It could become a problem if a stores inventory were to be incorrect and people were showing up to buy something that was no longer available. Like if someone saw a TV was in stock at a store near them and they drive 20 mins to the store only to find out someone had bought the last of that model in stock.

 It is a case where you get some people upset becuase it is not in place and on the other side people get amazingly angry when it does not work.

i agree "Available In Store Now" option on the BestBuy.com web site should be a must
and retroactivly a "Available Online Now" on instore stickers as well

Problem: difficult to easily see what in-store items are available upon searching for items. requires user to set several filters before left nav filter for in-store items comes up.

 

Solution: add checkbox to show only in-store options (and change store location) at the top right of the horizontal filter nav as seen here https://www.evernote.com/l/AhN6AC7sa-9H1JhHpzTwXEFKCXyE-IbfozA

 

I believe this will assist users in finding a product they need quickly and efficiently without needing to use many filters. Many occurences I want to just see in-store items without selecting filters.

I think shoppers get a lot more angy when a web site says in stock in this store and then you drive down there and it isn't there.  Happened to me when I bought my 360, I wanted the SW version.  My store across town said they had some and I went there and they did not. 

 

The next day at work (there is another BB 10 miles from my office) The web site said they didn't have any, however I called and the CSA said they had 2.  So she put one behind the counter for me and I came in 2 hours later and picked it up.

 

Point though inventory levels are notoriously known for sometimes being wrong, and it causes more anger.

I called ahead asking id Bestbuy had a Kindle Fire HD in stalk the guy said yeah, 

so walked in asked and the kid on the floor said he had none so i got a game card and  walked across the street to a Gamestop and Bought my Kindle Fire HD and noted that when i went online to take the bestbuy survey,

2 days later a maniger calls me saying to come back and buy his Kindle fire hd but to late i have one sorry BestBuy


thing is best buy need to keep better track if instore inventory and need to have training revies for employees every few month

Someone needs to tell Mary Lou Kelley, who is president of e Commerce, that in circa 2015, competitive retail web sites manage to allow their customers to choose one or more local stores and find out what is sold only in those stores, instead of.only allowing customers to see what is available in the entire Best Buy web universe.

It does me no good to see a list of over 400 pages of products when what I want is to know what I can go buy at my local store(s) right now before they close for the evening.

Just searched for an item on a few physical retailer websites.  Large Computer Chain and Large Video Game Chain were both able to tell me if the item I was looking for specifically was available at the nearby stores.  Large Computer Chain could even tell me the exact number they had in stock.

 

Best Buy's site could vaguely tell me if the item was sold in stores, but not always, and not directly.  (That is, you use a tangentially related search feature and know how to read the results.  There is no "available in stores" option.)  It even suggested competing products that the other two stores didn't have.  One was on sale, and had good reviews on online retailer sites!  Do a little more digging...  ship to store only.  Guess I won't be getting that alternate item that was so close to being my first purchase from Best Buy in over two years.

 

Things need to be ON THE SHELF on the day I'm looking, or I'll go somewhere else.  If I'm going to order something online that has to be shipped somewhere, I'll go with a company that specializes in that, like the Jungle River or Fresh Chicken sites.  Physically available when I want it beats pricing for me every time.  (And don't get me started on stores that aren't open 24 hours.  If Walmart had the selection, this wouldn't even be a discussion...)
