Movie/Music Club like the Gamers club

Status: Tell Us More

I know this idea has been listed before, but I am asking for it again.  There has to be a way to have a Media Club that makes money like Gamers Club does.  Pre-order with In-store pickup to your local desired store would also be welcome to heavy media consumers, especially when they buy the high end media types. This should also help with knowing popularity and possible inventory needs.

My spouse goes to Best Buy every week for music and movies has for years. Best Buy has serious issues with keeping these sorts of customers happy.  Buying on line has produced 100% broken CD/DVD/BlueRay/4K/3D disk cases from Best Buy delivery, therefore he will not buy on line (also mentioned on this site by someone else the idea to have better packing). You can't order for in-store delivery either, the app will only point you to stores that have the item you want many miles away from where you are but will not let purchase for pickup to your desired store. You know what happened next? He went across the street and bought the items from Barnes & Noble.  I would say that is happening a lot.

I have to hear every week about the failures of Best Buy in this category.  Either Best Buy competes in this space orget out, but this cannot be the standard.  We buy highend Magnolia gear which we cannot get any media to play on any of it at Best Buy, very, very frustrating.  Please Help!

I think it is a valid idea.  I would at least like to see in store pick up.

However, I don't see Best Buy, or any retailer putting a lot of time and money into Physical music media anymore.  I still buy physical music CD's but most people I know buy digital.

Physical movie media is still somewhat of a big market and care does need to be taken to ensure consumers are getting working media.

There`s an existing ideax for this that has been in "under review" status for years then it was "archived" and is now hidden for some reason. I`m pretty sure it was a top 5-10 total kudo ideax so not sure why it`s been ignored/forgotten. The amount of fragmented repeat threads should show the interest in some of these ideas warrant further review and eventual implimentation.

I do like the idea of a club for music and or movies.  But in reality I eventually see Best Buy looking at the floor space currently taken up by music and movies and deciding to put something else there.

I was in my local store last week getting something after seeing this thread and it occured to me how this particular departement in the store has gotten smaller and smaller and pushed further and further back into the corner of the store.

I don't like it personally but the trend in this media is going digital. However, I am impressed with the exent of Best Buys library.  Most of it is ship to home only but there is a lot of it.

I don't even think we have any stand alone music and movies stores in my area anymore.  They can only survive if incorporated with other business like Target, Best Buy or Wal-Mart.

I think it's a good idea. But mp3s need to be included. I started buying most all my music from Amazon once they started including mp3s with a CD purchase. I still like getting the bonuses on disk and artwork. Sometimes a dvd is also included in the cd special editions, which is nice. I think if the music took a more "loot Box" type approach I would probably buy more discs.
