I want to be able to go to bestbuy.com and order an item that is "open box" for shipment, either to a nearby Best Buy store for pickup or directly to my home. This has been suggested multiple times on IdeaX in various ways over the years and no one has given it the attention it deserves.
There is a prosumer camcorder that I have been eyeballing with ferocity for months, but I can only afford it at the open box price and there are no open box items within 250 miles of me. Not being able to do this is THE barrier between me buying a $1300+ item at Best Buy and buying nothing at all.
Please make this happen ASAP.
Actually shipping on open box items is available and has been for awhile.
However, it is not available on all items. Such as this particular camera. It is probalby a high risk item or something
It would be nice to have an easy way to discover why something might not have that option available, then; it seems to me that if the item is "open box - excellent" and has the original packaging, shipment from one store to another shouldn't be risky at all.
By high risk I meant by way of theft or swindle.
It happens a lot more than people may think.
This is a re-post. I suggested this back in 2014 and no progress has been made on it, still.
Thanks for the suggestion. As bobberuchi has already pointed out shipping for most open box items is already an option.
I do see now that some open box items are available for shipping. My problem is that the only one I want is not available for shipping. Is it because the item is so expensive?
@nctritech, I would have no idea why one particular open-box item was not available to be shipped to a customer. If you want us to try to get you this camcorder post to the customer service boards or send one of the moderators a private message.
@Allan-BBYThank you. I have sent you a PM and I appreciate the help.
@Allan-BBY this idea has now been completed.
