Return policies are printed on receipts, I think making the return policy a bit more prominent during the online checkout process would save some people frustration.
I fully agree with this actually...
-WHen online orders are printed it should at least give some basic return rules ( 15 day, 30 day, 45 day tiers ) and refer to the policy on the site for further detail.(if it doesn't, I don't personally print the receipts)
Maybe at the beginning of checkout and at the end of checkout there could be a cookie based return policy pop up. Or if they wanted to be more subtle at the end of checkout right below total just put a link that says click here for return information, or where it says shipping you could put the link right there below it.
I do have to say though also at the same time it should be every consumers responsibility to find out this information one way or another in advance.
AW - I agree, but at lesat on store receipts, it's printed on the receipt.
Also it should note that the Return Promise starts on the order date NOT the received date.
@ kst8no1, A customer's return or exchange period should start the date they take possesion of their purchase.
^ Also something to make a bit more prominent?
Our store has always gone off the purchase date on the reciept. Good example being with OMS orders that when tendered print out a regular reciept with the purchase date on it just like a regular product inthe store. If you came in to return that product we want that original reciept and go off that date regardless of when the customer received it.
The return and exchange period should start the day an item is received by the buyer or owner of the item. That being said, I agree return and exchange policies should be displayed. It is confusing and I can't seem to find information anywhere on this either.
Once though the item is officially received, that is when the return and exchange policy should start.
Also, if an item is mailed back on time, but not received until after the return policy ends for online orders, but there is in fact proof there was a shipment, then there should be extra time provided there is proof the item was mailed during the return and exchange period time frame.
Having said this, it should be 45 days regardless of membership status. No more of this 15 30 and 45 days. Return and exchange period time frames must be the same for all people who buy from Best Buy.
Remember I am talking only about return and exchange time frame.
Those who have a membership status absolutely should be rewarded in many ways for the amount of money we spend at Best Buy. However, the return and exchange time frame should be the same for everyone.
