Improve Mac Accessory Selection

I've noticed that they recently revamped the Mac Accessory section in my local store and it looks great!  There's a lot of new products, but I'm also noticing a lot of redundnacy.  I understand in some instances (like with hard drives) redunancy creates value, as it offers the same product at different price points;  However, overall Best Buy could do a better job on the accessories they pick for Macs;  Here's some suggestions:

(1) Rain mStand / Rain mTower / Just Mobile AluRack ;   If you are using your MacBook on it's on, it allows you to effectively "dock" you Mac while at the desk and use it at an angle [ergonomically] similar to that of an Apple desktop;  If using your MacBook with a display the mTower allows you to stand the MacBook up side-ways effectively turning it into a "tower."

(2) Macessity Laptuck Pro;  A stand for the Thunderbolt Display with integrated USB 3.0 hub and space below for Apple keyboard - great for the smaller home [office] workspace.

(3) KB Covers - Keyboard Covers

(4) HDMI to VGA Cable; would allow Apple TV to be connected in business conference rooms and/or classrooms where iPad adoption rates are rapidly increasing.

(5) Newer, more stylish sleeves for all MacBook sizes ("11, 13", 15") - may I suggest STM Bags Grip for MacBook, Hard Candy Cases Hard Shell Case, Moshi Codex MacBook Case, Tucano Stand Up Sleeve Cargo and/or Mujjo Sleeve and/or SwitchEasy Thins (Magnetic Closure)

(6) Belkin YourType Bluetooth Wireless Keypad; Bluetooth 10-Key add-on for Apple Notebooks/Desktops - great for home office, business, and educators a-like.

(7) PlugBug

(8) RadTech ScreenSavrz iMac Screen Cover

(9) Henge Docks Horizontal Docking Station

(10) Satechi Premium 4 Port Aluminum USB Hub

Not being a Mac owner I guess I never noticed. Thanks for the suggestions, and I would be curious if other customers would like to see this? Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

Best Buy has already devoted a lot of floor space to the Apple Brand.  Samsung has now taken over a large portion.

However, in regards to some of the items you would like to see.  I think Best Buy does a good job analyzing trends and demand.  Items which a store may only sell a small handful over a given period of them are not viable as a product that takes up shelf space.  The idea in a physical retail environment is to keep a single item on the shelf for the shortest period of time possible.

The better option I feel is to make it available as an online only order.  This way BB is able to offer up thousands more products and keep costs down.

The PlugBug and some of the other items you listed is available on the BB web site.

Respectfully, I've worked in a Best Buy store as an Apple Specialist and when it comes to Apple Accessories, Best Buy's selection is severly lacking, which is why Apple Retail stores are more of a destination for accessories.  For instance, they opted to carry PNY cable locks for MacBooks which most stores in our district and surrounding districts sold less than 1/week on;  Best Buy could easily switch this accessory out for an accessory that would sell better like Keyboard Covers - you'd be surprised how often people ask for these because outside of protecting your Mac's keyboard from natural finger oils that erode the surface, it also helps maintain resale value as the computer is in practically new condition when you're ready to sale. As a Mac user, both of my Macs have keyboard covers.

If there were two things I could really pull off that list and narrow it down, in terms of focus areas, it would be keyboard covers and MacBook cases.  Ironically, you bobberuchi mentions how Best Buy does a good job analyzing trends/demand, yet they didn't see the trend/demand coming of Apple discontinuing most of their 13" MacBook Pro models, except for one due to increasing Retina sales.  Yet every case except for maybe two is branded as a MacBook Pro case.  Yes they can be used on Retinas, but Retinas are considerably thinner than their non-Retina counterparts so many people want cases that are custom fit - it would be similar to using an iPad Retina case on an iPad Air - it would work as long as it wasn't one where the iPad snapped in, but there would be a extra space and the same "why would you do that" thought that just went through your mind is exactly why they should re-analyze trends and demands. Outside of that, MacBook Airs have also seen a considerable increase in sales, I'd argue even larger than the Retinas (which makes sense due to price point) and we currently carry one shell case for them.
