Why cant I load my gift cards into my account so that I always have a balance to use vs. having to ensure that I have the cards with me when I travel. You are missing out on HUGE opportunity. I just used Amazon instead of Best Buy for this very reason. I was able to go right to my balance without having th physical card. GET INTO THIS CENTURY PLEASE!! IT IS A REAL TURN OFF TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOUR STORE.
I just discovered that there is no option in bestbuy "my accounts" section where I can load up my physical bestbuy gift cards like how Amazon provides. It would be a great feature to provide this option to the end users so that they get full benefit out of it as below:
I feel this is a very convenient feature if added for end users that have large number of physical cards. An option to think about.

I think this is a terrific idea. Who else would like to have this option? Please remember to vote for an idea if you like it.
I'm not personally familiar with this option for Amazon, but I have a couple of other retailers that offer this feature in their apps. Aside from slight concerns with the security of having the GCs stolen somehow, it is really nice to know that when you decide to go to that store, that you have your GCs with you and decide to make a spur of the moment purchase; especially if you tend to get a lot and save them up.
What I would like to see added to that is people have the option of sending you the virtual gift card amount to the emial on account of the user.
Example: when I purchased my TV I asked for BB gift cards. My father wanted to get one for me for my birthday but could not get one. He could have simply sent it as a Virtual Gift card that would have gone on my account. Or to make it more secure. Best Buy would email me the gift card code and I could log into my acocunt and add the funds in.
I just recently did this for my daughters birthday with another company.
@bobberuchi What you're describing sounds like the e-gift cards currently offered (minus the ability to add it to an account part). I've bought one, one time and it worked well. It can be used in store or online just like any other gift card. Being able to add them to an account though would make them even better :-)
This is a really great idea having the credit stored on the account means money is always readily available especially if you do large purchases or have to buy stuff in sstock for a store instead of having to look for that blasted best buy card
Yes, I love this idea too. There are some apps out there that will let you store gift cards on your phone so you don't have to carry them with you al lthe time, but it's much better to have them in the BestBuy App.
It really would not be a lot different than storing Rewards Dollars in your account.
Then there will be the continuing dialog as to whether or not you should get reward dollars for gift card purchases. Which at this time you do not. You do get points for buying the gift card.
If they don't implement PayPal inside their stores this is the best thing they can do. I can load my money up to my Best buy account and get those big purchase devices I've been having my eye on.
