I was at the store on Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville, FL looking for a gift bag for my purchase, but I did not find one, so I just gave the gift in the blue plastic bag it was placed in by the cashier. I asked the store workers about gift bags and one searched for me, but determined that there weren't any gift bags sold by Best Buy, but said that a gift bag was a great idea. I think that Best Buy should partner with a greeting card company, or allow a vendor to set up shot in their stores so gift giving can become more touching with gift cards and gift bags.
I do really like this idea myself, especially since I am a habitual last second gift buyer. I can easily see a temporary display near the front that would be easy to grab and go. Thanks for the great input, hope our corporate side gets on this!
I think it is a good idea Gift bags are not terribly expensive and could add some good margin to Best Buys sales.
A Best Buy Gift Bag would probably look like the bags you get at checkout but in a gift bag style.
Best Buy could probably sell them for
They could buy 10 x 5 x 13" bags with their logo on them for $1.13 each (a little less for smaller and a little more for larger) and sell them for $3 (which is about what you would pay for a gift bag at a retail store)
And as mentioned they could put up a temporary stand near the checkouts.
