Lately there has been a growing response in entrepreneurship with new technology. New websites created every day for people trying to gain a piece of the consumer electronics business. Best Buy needs to bring back to life of being at the intersection of Technology and Life with "New Exclusive" products. Best Buy needs to be a place you can come into where your able to purchase these "New" electronics that you can not get on-line currently. Which leads me to Kickstarter.com, this is an evironment where entrepreneures show case new technology that people can use everyday in life. The most amazing thing about this is the response to the technology that is being created out there in our world today. Customers are pledging millions of dollars for these start up companys to invent, research and create products that they know we need in our every day life. Best Buy needs to take on these inventors and entreprenueres through our .com channel and even bring those new technology parts to life into Best Buy.
For example: Lets take a look at the E-paper watch and what it has done in 30 days.
$10.2 Million dollars were pledged to purchase this product after it was created
69k people backed this pruct
120,000 Likes on Facebook
31 people/companys bought into the initial run of $10,000 and it sold out in days
We are talking about just one product on this amazing website that has created a world wide buzz that Best Buy is missing out on. The time is now and we need to jump on these solutions for our current customers and our Next" generation of customers to turn Best Buy back into being at the intersection of technology and life.
We need to bring these kickstarter people with thier ideas to Best Buys on-line channel. We need to give them the backing they need to create this diverse/assortment of products. Which will allow Best Buy to become a direct vendor of these new products that the customer demand Right Now.
Please take a look into this idea and if you need further clarity please emial me.
Thanks
