Gamers Club, Elite and Elite Plus Membership Cards

A minor suggestion that actually could help alot of customers & staff. I know there`s hard plastic RZ silver cards b/c I have 2 but I don`t have an Elite Plus card. These should be sent to all current members & on the back of the respective cards the benefits of each one should be listed. The listing would be a great help in regards to GCU as your boards are filled with customers complaining about the same issues over & over again. Have the cards mention "don`t forget your 10% trade in bonus(even when there`s a 50% or 100% offer)", "Enjoy your 10% off all used games" & "Enjoy your 20% discount on all new games even when they`re on sale".

Detailed breakdowns of the benefits are definitely needed since there remains to be a large number of customers who are losing out on what they paid for a on a consistant basis. At any given time you`ll see 3-5 post regarding the loss of 2X pts, no 10% bonus or 10% discount on used and/or no 20% discount on new games. Even worse the customers who`re fully aware of the benefits they should be receiving are being denied by managers giving the wrong info altogether like "it`s one or the other" or "the 20% doesn`t apply to new games on sale".

Being able to provide the card would go a long way toward eliminating some of these issues(along with more staff training) plus it`s a consistant wallet reminder why to shop at BB.

Since the My Best Buy program has moved away from physical cards, and Gamers Club Unlocked is part of the My Best Buy program, we will not be implementing this idea.

In a time when we are trying to cut costs, I just don't see a path for this to get done. That doesn't mean I don't like the idea, and maybe down the road this could be done. What would happen if we change the programs benefits after these cards are sent out? Would any other members like to see this? Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

Outta the box thinking could allow you to have the card subsidized by 3rd parties too. Send the cards out in a welcome kit with coupons and sponsered promotions that assist with the cost AND generate a sale(s) in the process. The parnership takes on some cost & the customers purchase takes on some.

Where there`s a will there`s a way right. And thinking about it here`s a possible way, does BB sell machines that make these cards? If so, you could have the cards state "supplied by _______" on ______ machine sold by BB". Each welcome kit sent out would have a specific sponsered promo for said machine/equipment that you sell along with a rz offer for using that companies service if available.

A customer would be able to print a paper replacement thru myBB annually.

@enuf, members that have received Elite/Elite Plus status for the first time are now receiving membership cards. We are looking into how we could get all such members cards.

@Allan, Nice it`s a small thing I know but really these little things can go along way. Just think about all the people who`d flood the forums if they kept seeing other members getting cards & not them. They`d feel slighted even with their old card working fine I guess it`s a way that BB would "connect" with them.

@qualityman13, I would suggest posting to the Gaming Support board to see if they can get to the bottom of you not getting this card yet.

One suggestion that I think is needed for Gamers Club Unlocked is to add a physical identification card for each membership.  The card would serve two purposes:

1) Identify a GCU member with a unique barcode which can be scanned at any Best Buy register (this would basically be like an elite or elite plus membership card) instead of providing the phone number for the My Best Buy account.

2) Be used to load any credit on the specific card with any video game trade ins (this would make the card a reloadable gift card that can be used with all trades).

Personally, this would be the best benefit for adding a specific identification card as it would save the physical waste of using a gift card for each trade in transaction.  Personally, I have to keep each gift card from my trades that I use with a videogame preorder on until the transaction is completed (as if the order is cancelled before completion, the funds are then placed back on the gift card).  To have one specific card to use instead of having to keep track of 6-8 different gift cards would be a godsend.

This is already an existing Ideax currently under review the 6th one down. I do agree on having trade credit loaded directly on the card though.
