Gamer`s Club Unlocked Success/failure, Press releses

Perception can be reality and when a program like GCU goes thru so many extreme changes with little to no warning or stated rhyme or reason it makes existing customers nervous/panic. As far back as I can remember BB has had the best gaming program/deals but rarely if ever promoted the details of it`s success. Meanwhile your competition consistantly brags about the stats/sales like in this link. They also confirm with mostly complete #`s how many total members(not always broken down as paid and free) they have. How many GCU members are there? What`s the breakdown between free members and paid members? The general thought is that with the perm price drop from $120 to $30(back to the pre-GCU pricing) in basically 1 yr time that something failed thus the price drop to "save" the program. Sucks that BB didn`t do the numerous upgrades that have been provided here which would allowed them to actually sell the subs for full price. There`s no way to convince me that recieving $90 less can be a good thing unless the program was grossly overpriced from day one. In any event the perception is not good and it would be nice to see some more GCU P.R. news the same way Walmart/Target/GS/TRU promote their respective adventures in the gaming market. http://www.vgchartz.com/article/253425/gamestop-profits-jump-11-in-2014/

@enuf There will be one less member as of 2018 when mine expires I think unless things radically change for the better again. Yeah....no. At $30 I'm a buyer cuz that breaks down to the $15 a year like the old paid membership. At $120, I'd be quoting The Rock and telling BB to take it, turn that SOB sideways and stick it straight up their candy (expletive deleted). This is especially true if the program remained with just the benefits you get now(20% all new games, 10% off used, 10% bump on trades). Even at $30 it seems overpriced since there haven't been good/insane deals like back during the $2-$5 clearance sales a number of years ago that would also stack with the 20% discount. Instead we get the typical weekly sales with a very very rare DOTD sale that's actually worthwhile. The rest of the time it's just the straight up 20% off without any coupons to stack with that as those have dried up now as well. Right now the only coupon deals for GCU members are $50 off some overpriced Turtle Beach headset for PS3/PS4 and $50 off the COD Ghosts Hardened Edition for 360 only. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp?id=pcmcat327600050019&type=category&skuId=&strId=&... Even that last deal is a bit lopsided as the $50 discount seems to come off of the $98.99 price and nothing else comes off as it comes up as $48.99 in your cart. Sure. It shows you saved $61 or so when its in the cart, but the GCU discount should apply either pre or post coupon and there should be a breakdown showing it actually took off 20% ON TOP OF the coupon. At this point I'm mostly done with buying at Best Buy since the gaming section is so sparse for the PS3(my only console at this point). There's maybe 1-2 copies of older stuff with a handful or so of copies of newer titles and a much smaller $19.99 and under value section. The pre-owned sections aren't much better either and on some consoles(Wii U, 3DS/DS) they're just downright laughable. On top of all of that the pre-owned stuff is all mostly disc only garbage. Yeah. No thanks.
