Because of how long it has been taking to recieve these coupon packs & most people are trying to time the coupons with the right sale BB should have them avail. in-store for purchase when you become unlocked. Cross promote the coupons along with the weekly ad & make sure your game reps are aware that way unlocked memberships will increase as a result of the exposure. If a person can make use of the program on day 1 when spending $15 upfront then the chances of them joining increase.
If BB were to sponsor special coupons packs that would also be avail. in-store this would generate instant revenue from the sponsers, increased sales & increase unlocked memberships as well.
Make it so BB make it so.
While I agree that the welcome packets should arrive sooner than later(mine didn't arrive until just before Black Friday or so and I signed up in September of 2011) I view them as an added bonus and not so much a requirement.
Maybe one way to get them to people sooner would be to have the coupons sent digitally to peoples' RZ/Gamers' Club Unlocked accounts and let them be able to print up the coupons themselves? I know that that would open things up to more potential fraud like we saw with the @Gamer coupons being copies and printed up from PDF's before.
But at the same time, they could use some sort of one time use coupons on the accounts to prevent some of the fraud. Either that or individual use coupons tied to that members account.
As it stands though some of the coupons are kind of useless(to me anyway). How about a $X amount off a game of a certain priced game coupon to replace the mostly useless digital purchase coupon?
Just my thoughts on the matter...
Having the coupons packs avail. in-store will allow a person to use them right then & spend more instantly which is what BB wants. The lure of instant savings will make a person feel that the $15 spent to join is well worth it since they can instantly begin saving. That's why so many people joined when the March coupons were live the spent $15 but got FF for $15 & 3 $5 games on the spot so their $15 investment paid off. What happens if there's an instant sale or limited quanties the digital coupons will take at least a day or 2 since the membership needs to be processed & you could miss out the deal that you really want to join the program for.
But mainly the enticement of getting the coupons will really drive more GC subscriptions which in turns means a stonger healthier GC & that means more months like March which we all benefit & can certainly again that March coming 10 times a yr is the best scenario for all.
These coupons would also need to be valid for online use as well just like the reg. @gamer coupons

Theft & fraudulent activity is already happening w/o the coupons being avail. in-stores. There was a keyring app, people stealing coupons from magazines w/o paying for them & people making scans/copies of the coupons. These issues need to be addressed anyways & once they are that would also protect the welcome kit coupons. Not to mention that the welcome kits should have a unique barcode since they would be for each new customer so that would solve one potential exploit.
Now I wouldn't be opposed to deals being directly loaded on to a persons RZ card but I guess then BB would need to issue RZGC Unlocked cards.
Yeah, I'd like to see this. I don't see why they need to be mailed when you could deliver them via email, RZ account, or just hand them out in store. That actually seems like it would be cheaper and easier for BB.
