TRE may prove to be one of the biggest mistakes Best Buy has ever made. I totally support BB's effort to manage its business and I enjoy BB and want them to succeed. All my appliances and electronics are bought from BB. I enjoy knowing the employees and discussing new products. I enjoy that the employees are always encouraging you to try the new products and telling you to bring them back if you are not happy.
No one has ever mentioned that doing so will ban you from returning anything you buy. My buying pattern has always been to buy a product before using my Rewards points. I do so because many of the products don't perform as promissed.
Since BB refuses to reveal the return rules that are being used by TRE to manage the returns and I have been given a warning, I need to assume that my next return will be refused and I will be banned for a year from returning anything I may buy.
I assume that BB no longer wants my business. I will find alternatives to BB (Apple Store and Amazon). I will discontinue using my BB credit card ($20,000 - $25,000) and I will wish BB every success and thank them for all the support they have provided me in the past.
TRE is a good idea but your failure to communicate your return policy and your inability to merge that policy with store operations may result in more lost revenue than gains from it.
I will miss the store
