Entering Credit Card # When Ordering Online

Status: Tell Us More
by on ‎09-24-2014 11:12 PM

I use a virtual CC # when I order something online.  It is a one-time use # generated by my CC company. Most of the online retailers let me drag the virtual number from a pop-up window supplied by my CC company onto the order form for the retailer.  When I do this with Best Buy it does not recognise that the number is there and keeps asking me to enter a valid number.  I then have to type the number in manually.

Part of the reason for being able to drag a number over is security.  If there is someone recording keystrokes they can get your CC number when you type it.  They cannot do this if you drag the number into the box.  Plus, it eliminates mistakes when entering information.

Obviously, the technology is there to be able to do this since I can do it that way at most other online locations.  Looking into making whatever changes it takes to implement this feature I'm sure would be a welcome change for many of us who shop online.
