Elite, Elite Plus... Elite Standard/Prime?

Status: Tell Us More

Why has Best Buy still not offer anything to compete with Amazon Prime?

Elite Standard *Probably need a better name*

  • $29.99 per year
  • 3X RZ(MY BBY) Points for all in store purchases
  • No minimum requirements for shipping
  • 3-4 days delivery
  • Discount on Expedited/Express Shipping on a per item basis
  • A dedicated phone number to report damage or late delivery

Elite Prime *Probably need a better name*

  • $59.99 per year
  • 5X RZ(My BBY) Points for all in store purchases
  • No minimum reqruiements for shipping
  • 1-2 days delivery
  • Discount on Express shipping on a per item basis
  • A dedicated phone number to report damage or late delivery

Elite Standard are for those that don't need their orders in a hurry but still want to make purchases without having to worry about meeting the minimum $25 to get free shipping. They will also have the option to get discounted Expedited or Express shipping on a per item basis.

Elite Prime are for those that want their orders in 1-2 days. They will also have the option to get discounted Express overnight shipping on a per item basis.

I have also added some additional bonus My Best Buy Points for in store purchases. This is because Best Buy will save shipping cost on in store purchases but the 3X and 5X bonuses should also give incentive for Standard and Prime members to shop in your stores.

I can't imagine we have not already considered launching a program with all of our competitor's programs. I like the specifics you provided, and would love to hear from others on this. Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

I doubt this will happen. discount on overnight shipments...somebody in a business setting like myself. I could order 50 computers and if I was to do it overnight they just lost A LOT of money.

I also don't believe as a elite plus member I should have to pay another type of subscription fee.

Great minds think alike there`s a current ideax thread regarding the same exact issue lol But I actually do love the name "Elite Prime", BB could make an amazing ad campain in which Elite Prime transforms from a retail store into an blue/yellow robot. Have Elite Prime use his "cash" sword to slay Amaztron to save the customers. Promote it during the Transformers movie wave it could work & become pop culture gold. We had Sega Genesis vs Super Nintendo it`s 2014 so Elite Prime vs Amaztron just feels right.

Also, I`d bet in the 450ish "Tell Us More" section that there`s 40+ "We did it" in waiting. I know several people have stated they never bothered voting b/c you needed a new login. There`s even a ideax thread on universal logins too lol.

I really like this idea, I hope such annual memberships will be implemented rather than an annual dollar amount spent each year. Please implement this!

@AWBrown

My ideaX isn't meant to compete or replace Elite/Elite Plus. This is mainly for those that aren't Elite/Elite Plus so they can pay a yearly membership to get the free standard/expedited shipping benefit.

As long as the Elite/Elite Plus shipping/account upgrade could be paid for with credit/gift cards that customers have I'd be down with this idea. As it stands, Amazon does not allow you to use credit from your account to pay for Prime shipping or I would've likely been a member of that program for 4-5 years by now due to the credit I had there for a long time. But with them caving to the state of PA on sales tax, it matters less to me who gets my business now as I'm paying sales tax either way. So that's why Best Buy has been getting the bulk of my game buying purchases over the last several years. Not to mention the coupon stacking and the recent addition of the 20% discount on new games with Best Buy versus zero discounts from Amazon unless I'm buying from their Warehouse Deals site.
