It would have six swipe and slide screens each doing a different job for the customer. For example screen 1. Would be the Aisle location when the customer clicks on it they will get the exact aisle location along with the shelf and row in addition it will display a detailed photo image of where to find the product at on the shelf. Screen 2 displays rainchecks, special orders and back orders in this screen the customer can order out of stock items and products that are no longer carried in the store. Allowing you to stay one step ahead of the competition. Each of the six screens is designed to improve customer service and make the customers shopping experience an enjoyable one. No more waiting in long customer service lines expecially during busy holiday seasons. No more having to search for an available clerk or having a customer go to a competing retailer to locate and purchase a product this devise will allow them to order what they want and even get the sale price if there are no more products that are in demand in stock. Screen 3 the customer can check the price of a specific product they can also get detailed information about the product. Screen 4 they can make comments, address concerns and make suggestions. In screen 5 the customer may preview, edit, change and save thier order then send it to thier Smartphone. Screen 6 they can preview and print thier order they can also get a tracking number and submit it to thier smart phone. They will then be able to order and check the status while away from the store also.

I think the idea has merit but I don't know how well it would work


Other than the isle locations how would this be different than using your phone or computer?


It would stand to reason if the customer service line is long the kiosk line would be long as well.


Similar to going to a grocery store that has self checkout they tend to get loaded with people who have no idea how to use the system or they are uncomfortable and it takes them a long time.


I don't like all the features you list but I would like to see a kiosk that would allow you do look up product details and check items that are not carried in the store.

I think this would be best added to the Best Buy mobile app for phones and tablets, as it would be cheaper and quicker to implement this into the existing infrastructure (the only thing missing being the aisle markers and adding that information into the app) than haivng to buy the hardware for a kiosk (touch screen, computer, etc.), creating a new program for the kiosk and adding yet another item to the already bogged down Best Buy networks. 


On a side note, this goes back to two points I've made previously:


(1) IdeaX NEEDS smarter, better organization -- the same ideas (like this one) get introduced over and over again and they never gain any steam because instead of looking to see if a similar idea exists (and on Best Buy's end instead of having a software -- like for technical support where it has you ask your question and pulls up similar questions/responses that were previously submitted) people just submit the same things over and over and over again and they only end up getting 1 or 2 up votes each. Maybe the better solution is setup IdeaX where you submit the question and then it gets posted by moderators after being fielded and if it's already an idea the moderator notifies the user and then one-ups the vote count for that idea.


(2) Going back to the previous point, I've already suggested this idea using the Best Buy mobile app


And it's come up in different forms several times since then (some verbatim) and the ideas never get merged, which means the idea never goes anywhere. At this rate you should just call this Gamersx becuase those are about the only ideas that ever get enough votes to go anywhere.
