Customer service in cell phone dept

Status: Tell Us More

Just purchased a cell phone yesterday at your store. Wonderful service, the downfall was waiting a half hour before the sales person to was available to set up our phone. While waiting we wanted to look at tablets but didn't want to loose out place in line. We spent 1 hour in your store .5hr waiting and .5hr having our cell phone service initiated, then we were tired and went home.

Idea- give customers buzzer beepers so they can walk around the store while waiting.

I think there could be an issue with our mobile associates looking like they're not helping anyone when they really are working on setting up service while a customer is browsing the store. I would like to hear from others on this idea. Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

The customer should be there while their phone is being set up but the first half hour was spent waitint behind someone while their phone was beong set up..during that half hour I could have been shopping for a tablet

@mags1, So kind of like a ticket system without annoucing who's being served next?

Yes, but using the buzzer system like in some restaurants it gives the freedom to wander the store and spend money...

I recently went to beat buy to purchase a new iPhone, during Black Friday. Waiting over an hour in line to buy my phone, within that span of time I was tempted to walk away. Luckly I had friends to keep me company. But no matter what friends or not to keep someone entertained, best buy should set up a ticket service system for any line being formed. Basically what I mean is, instead of having customers wait in a hour long line, you simple have a ticket dispenser with numbers, people who need the service pick up a ticket and wait for there number to be called. While waiting for their number to be called they would potentially 1) be happier that they didn't wait in line to simply buy a phone 2) happy that best buy is making it easier for customers and 3) cause customers to shop more, the time spent in a line is time and potential money being lost for customers and retailers. Customers could have looked for other appliances with amazing deals in your store and at the same time give the store more time with the customer and it's other products.

Just my .02

Syedalian
