Change return/exchange policy

Status: Acknowledged

I think the return/exchange policy should be changed, especially during the holidays.  The timeframe of 14 days is very short.  It should be at least 60 days (90 days would be better).  Some customers begin Christmas shopping early (like October), but cannot, because by the time the recipient gets the gift, and it is not satifactory, the gift cannot be returned or exchanged.

A change of 60-90 days during the holidays and at least 30 days the rest of the year would encourage more people to purchase at best buy (I know I would).

Given we just changed this policy to be 15 days, it is unlikely we will be changing it back anytime soon. With that said, we usually do have an extended holiday return or exchange policy each year, and I would guess this would be the case this year also. Usually this extended holiday return or exchange period is valid for purchase made sometime in November through Christmas, and allows a customer (or gift recipient) to return or exchange the item(s) as if the item was purchased on Christmas. I haven't heard anything yet, but once again it is my feeling we will most likely do this again this year.

I want to do my Holiday shopping now.  I spend a fortune each year at Best Buy for Holiday gifts; however, with the new return policy, I cannot start shopping November 17th (considering a return day of January 2nd, after our holiday trip).  If I were not an EletePlus member, I couldn't shop at Best Buy until December 17th; that is ridiculous.  If Best Buy wants my Holiday dollars, it needs to revise its Holiday return policy.

The return policy is almost always extended during the holiday season. Best Buy will likely announce their plans within the next couple weeks.

I hope there is an extended policy. I plan to purchase like three ipad 5's when they come out so I will need the policy for Christmas quite badly if one of them doesn't work properly!

I started a Facebook page called "Best Buy Sucks" to tell people how bad Best Buy is.
