I have been looking at getting a new laptop and have been browsing bestbuy.com for the last couple months. Up until the last couple of weeks if I selected processor brand of Intel, then the site would present me with the ability to choose which type of Intel processor I was interested in. I am specifically interested in the 4th generation Intel i3 or i5 processors.
However in the last couple of weeks I suddenly am not not presented with the ability to choose the processor model, the option has disappeared.
Of course if I try to use the general search tool at the top of the page I am presented with a mish mash of results including AMD processors. So the search tool is useless.
This leaves me having to scroll through many pages of laptops to find the relatively few that meet my criteria. I find other online sites much easier to use in this regard.
Whos bright idea was it to make our online experience less easy?
There are also several bugs with the filters. If you select intel or amd and then select only two companies it will show all companies instead. The site needs major overhaul I support.
I think keywords in general should be broadened. For example, go to BestBuy.com and type in "thunderbolt display" and it will tell you that they don't carry it and suggest 3M filters for a thunderbolt display. The average customer just took their $1000 and walked it over to an Apple store and another reseller (i.e. Microcenter, Fry's or Staples now in most places). As the number of resellers grows, silly mistakes like this become very costly.
The same thing applies if I type in "15 Retina MacBook" - only Speck cases come up so there's another $2000-$2500 walked. And as silly as that sounds, someone that's shopping for a highend computer like that is going to know exactly what they're looking for and they're more likely to type it in just like that. Someone who's not as sure (i.e. do I want a 13" or 15") may type something more generic like "Retina MacBook" and bam - all of them are listed.
While filter choices should be expanded, there should be a way to filter results within each filter themselves. Currently, if you get 250 results of something, it's possible to select another filter and get 300 results that include stuff you originally filtered out in the first place. What's the deal?!!!! Fix please!!!!
