Better Awareness of Deals/Promos/Offers BestBuy provides

Too many times there are deals, offers and/promos on items that are not clearance/closeout but sellout far too fast because BB undervalues the demand. You should have a pretty good stockpile of data from recent sales/promos to work off of. Surely number crunching pencil pushers(not meant to be offensive) would easily come up with an evaluation program that could closely predict what numbers are needed to cover demand.

Currently, you`re running a Buy 1 Get One Free on select 3DS games which is a very good & rare offer. Nintendo items on sale are always high demand & Buy 1 Get One free are even more rare than Buy 2 Get One Free which brings out alot of savers. I can speak from a unique point of view as I frequently visit 8-10 different BB`s across 3 states & the Nintendo selection at most of these stores is limited for normal shopping. So certainly it should be no surprise that with the sale only being 1 day "old" you`re pretty much stock sucked dry.

To make matters worse, games are currently you baseline for the $120 Gamer`s Club Unlocked(GCU) & this is the exact type of offer which when promoted correctly will move GCU sub sales. If you can`t meet demand beyond day 1 of a sale in your weekly ad then something is wrong plain & simple.

I fully forsee the standard "we attempt to make sure all our customers needs are met by trying to have enough supply of items we advertise but it certain instances this can`t be put in place". But again day 1 with full knowledge of all the factors listed no excuse this isn`t Black Friday, these aren`t PS4`s/XB1`s right after release & you`re selling GCU for $120. Create a team or put the existing team to work on a solution.

THIS! Best Buy's store stock is terrible to begin with, but they NEVER have enough stock for promotions! I went to take advantage of the 3DS BOGO promotion today and ended up ordering games online. Then, to make matters worse, only one of the games I wanted was available for shipping. The other games were only available for in-store pickup, and none of these games were available in any of Las Vegas stores. Nor were they available in nearby Utah or California stores. Plus, I couldnt even reserve them. Of course, this also took place after had to educate the employees once again on promos their store offerred. Not sure how many times I've had to educate Best Buy employees on Best Buy promos. This particular promotion was leaked about a week ago. Surely Best Buy stores had enough time to prepare for it by ordering enough of these _popular_ games to meet demand.

100% agree. 1st day of the sale and all the stock is gone in the first couple of hours??? Ridiculous!

Hmm, so you judged that the demand for the most popular games included in the sale would peak the afternoon the sale began, thus negating the need for additional inventory for the remainder of the week?

Allan are you being serious? Or just saying what you are told to say? The definition of accurate is not this sir. This is a colossal failure. Today is Wednesday and the official halfway point of the sale. The 3DS games have been out of stock since Sunday. We have the 2nd half of the week to try to get your competitors to price match your sale price. And guess what, when they do, Best Buy loses all of those customers. So, you need to strive a little harder to "accurately judge demand" on the next sale. Maybe add a couple zeros to the end of whatever quantity number of stock you come up with.

@LebronJames, I of course am being serious. I was not told what to say. It is absolutely correct that we do our best to accurately estimate demand on every product we sell, and work to stock to that estimate. It is also correct that we are wrong sometimes in these estimations. We sometimes project higher demand than reality, and overstock an item. We also occasionally project lower demand causing us to sell out quickly. This is the nature of retail. We truly are sorry for ever disappointing one of our customers.

My only real complaint about this sale was the factor that they werne't available for shipping. It's bad enough the nearest BestBuy to me is 50 miles away, but it was worse the nearest available store that had stock was over 85 miles away...sorry but I would pay more in gas getting there and back for the second game than the game is worth. Making this, not a buy one get one for myself.

It's great BestBuy is doing the Buy one get one, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was a flop even in BestBuys eyes.

I can safely say any B2G1 sale on new games gets alot of attention assuming stock is available BOGO is an even better deal. Plus it`s on Nindento items(which has been requested on these forums abundantly), it`s in the weekly ad whick leaks usually a week ahead AND combined with the GCU 20% discount there was surely gonna be huge interest.

A previously suggested ideax would help keep BB better prepared for these events. http://www.forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Best-Buy-IdeaX/Introduce-a-BesBuy-biannual-customer-review-feedback...
