BestBuy exclusive videogame DLC & Steelbox packaging/recieving method

Some of this surely isn't BB's fault but it still makes the company look bad when it can't be trusted to provide the promised pre-order incentive to customers. My suggestion would be for BB to secure as many exclsuinve steelbox packaging promos as possible & have the DLC codes sealed in them.

Because this method can be abused for codes that wouldn't equal sales it needs to be clearly printed on the steelbox packaging & the receipt that if the $5 pre-order can not be refunded if the steelbox is opened & the game itself will not be fully refunded if the sealed steelbox isn't also returned.

Also, you should try to score more impressive DLC like characters and/or levels not just costumes/weapons packs. They have more "value" & will have a much greater impact on increasing your total pre-orders.

I have a feeling this would increase the cost of the game, but I think some customers would be willing to pay the added expense. Would anyone else like to see this as an option? Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

I would love it if BB got more steelbooks. It gets frustrating (and expensive!) importing steelbooks from Canada's FutureShop, UK's HMV, amazon.de, and eBay sellers.

I think the added cost can be worked around very easily. If you consistant ly have the best day 1 DLC & promo like the $20 pre-order credit this will most ceertainly increase your day 1 sales & I'm assuming that if your overall pre-orders jump 15%-25%(complete guess) that would allow you to get a larger discount per game by ordering in bulk.

With the larger # of total pre-orders there's gonna be a large impact on residual sales based on the extra foot traffic which equals impuulse purchases.  And since alot of the deals can be tied to the GCU the added $15 subs need to be factoered in as well.

And with more customers making purchases that net credit larger non game purchases will follow since the credit can be used to drop the price of a TV, tablet or other device. These devices generally come along with extended warranties sales which are one of Bestbuy's best friends.

If worked correctly the added sales will make the added cost an afterthought. Just take a look at what people go thru to get the exclusive packages from other countries & think about BB being the new place to score the better swag.

I would love to see Best Buy offer more steelbooks or mini artbooks as pre-order bonuses instead of DLC. I know Best Buy's subsidiary futureshop offers lots of steelbook exclusives for pre-orders up in Canada.
