BestBuy Promotion Reps interacting with customers

There seems to be a "disconnect" between the BB promotions dept. & the customers or would be customers. To many times I see deals that are offered by "lesser" retailers or can think of deals that would suit a certain sale better than what BB offers. I know BB can't get it right all the time but there's certain types of deals that should be standard staples.

 

With all this being said the solution would be to have BB promotion reps directly on the forums page or another BB sponsored site...come to think of it BB could actually get other sponsors to assist on the site since they would be able to promoted the items that BB would be stocking. We the customers could then goto the site & let BB know exactly what we want, have interest in buying, what deals/sale will get us in the door & what deals the competition is doing giving BB a chance to one up them.

 

Amazon has an "alert us" option which allows them to adjust there prices on the fly so BB should consider doing the same. Obviously, BB wouldn't do this for every item but if demand is extremely high it may prove profitable to make exceptions accordingly. If there's a consistent deals that people request then it would make sense for BB to begin incorporating the same sale(s) from their end and become more proactive.

 

I know BB has a price match policy but these would be the perfect times to incorporate Deals of the Day, Deal of the Week, Deal of the Month. In this economy it's no longer about getting "new" customers/sales it's more about taking customers/sales from your competition. The foot/web traffic combined with GCU & Media club should equal a very positive financial outcome for BB in the short term & long term. Twitter & Facebook could also be incorporated too but the site would allow another revenue source along with the Gamers & Media clubs which would allow for even better deals.

 

If there's a franchise of anything then anytime a new entity is coming out BB needs to offer deals for people new to the franchise & those who are vets of the franchise.

 

Examples:

2011 was the year of thirds for video games so the best way to market to the full audience would be to offer the $60 game along with the other games for $80-$100. PS3 has all the classic remakes & these can easily be tied in the GCU program.

What BB should've offered 

1-Uncharted 3 & the Uncharted 2 pack for $90 if Uncharted 3 was pre-ordered 

2-$80 if Uncharted 3 was pre-ordered the customer is a GCU member.

3-$20 off any other PS3 HD remake w/pre-order/purchase of Uncharted 3 + GCU

 

Same thing applies to music(This can also be piggy-backed with a BB Movie/Music/Media club which is also an IdeaX)

If a artist has multiple albums out when the release a new album

1-Discount all of the other separately

2-Offer all the albums including the new one for 1 special package price that would be cheaper than buying all of them like in # 1

3-For artists with 4 or more albums offer buy 2 or buy 3 deals

4-Try to get special packaging/swag in relation to the #2 that will make BB the place for loyal fans to buy from.

 

Movies(also would be piggy-backed with the BB Movie/Music/Media club)

Do the same thing as suggested for music but also focus on the special packaging & swag since this will actually drive foot traffic & week 1 sales. The DC & Marvel animation dvds that come with the figures seem to sell very well.

 

Although I am employed I'd happily come aboard & help BB become a beast in the retail sector & take BB to a level they would never have thought of.

I have to say that I'm not sure how much of this we could put in place, but it could very well be worth consideration. I do know that we do offer a deal of the day as it stands, but I could see us expanding this to deal of the week/month. I would like to hear from other users on this.

half of BB deal of the day are not deals. they can be found cheaper elsewhere online.

You make my point but if there's a huge deal thru say AMZ but stock is low or you have BB credit it would be nice for BB to come in and steal their thunder by matching that price giving you another option. Choice is a customers greatest power. But in all fairness to BB the DOTD's from last fall gaming blitz was UNBEATABLE by far.

Even at that AMZ DotD or goldbox deals aren't any better than BBYs anymore.

Darksiders is $10 new now I know this is geared to attract customers to this franchise since the new game is coming later this month. BB should either be offering a dual pack(BB exclusive) for $60 for GCU members who have pre-ordered the game or just give the 1st game for free w/pre-order purchase of Darksiders 2 for GCU members. And this $10 deal can be left for non GCU members.

 

Make the GC stronger by offering better deals to us since we already paid for the program & if other want the better deals they'll join since it would be worth it to get the deals.
