Best Buy Identification Program Process Improvement Recommendation

Best Buy Leadership,

I would like to request that Best Buy implement a thorough review on their customer identification program. Customers should not have to call customer service to have rewards investigated due to the lack of limited process identification controls. I recommend that Best Buy come up with a process to validate the identity of a customer. Specifically, something Best Buy would only know and the customer. I ask how much fraud is being committed by allowing people to provide someone's else’s email address or phone number to cash out on their rewards?


This seems rather trivial, but it's a very big concern amongst customers. Why give incentives if they are fraudulently being stolen with limited information? Seems like a great "New Idea" for 2021.
