BLACK FRIDAY

Status: Acknowledged
by on ‎11-12-2013 08:41 AM

It's a real shame that I won't be spending any christmas dollars at Best Buy this year, unlike years before. Since you guys chose to create a choice between ruining Thanksgiving Day or completely missing out on the best deals, I will be doing my electronics shopping online.

If you want my dollars to return to your stores, then you need to return Black Friday to FRIDAY!

I am so happy that some of you won't be there, that means there will be less people in front of me in line! However, remember those who are all against this, that employees sign up for it when they work retail. Thanksgiving to me is being thankful that the stores have reduce their prices so I can buy more and for the thrill of the hunt. And this year I am thankful for not standing in the cold & dark! Happy Thanksgiving and have a very Merry Christmas!!

I am taking time out of my busy day to let you know that I am very disappointed in your company for opening on Thanksgiving. Thursday is a Holiday and time meant to be spent with our families. You have many young people working for you and Thanksgiving is a special time when they get to learn traditions and have stories passed down while visiting family they may only see a few times a year. You know all too well...that waiting to open on Friday would not hurt your sales! What brings people in your door are a great product and an even better deal! Maybe next year you'll take that into consideration....or will it be that before we know it...you'll remain open every day of the year?! I hope you will be spending Thanksgiving with your families and while you are I hope you will think of your customers and employees and the Holiday you took from them! Unfortunately I will have to miss your sales...I will be spending that time with my family. We will shop the deals that start after our Holiday! God Bless and Happy Holidays

I was so disappointed to receive the circular announcing that Best Buy will open at 6 pm on Thanksgiving. Such pressure that puts on other companies who chose to give their workers the holiday off. What a pity, as my husband and I need to buy a new microwave and plan to buy electronics for our family members. Instead, we'll be going to Fryes, which opens tomorrow.

Do not open on THANKSGIVING anymore!

That's my vote.

Why contribute to rampant corporate greed? How hard would it be to wait a few hours until Friday morning for your precious sales? I doubt anyone would miss out on a particular sale if the sale started on Friday morning (not midnight but at least after the sun rises). If one day isn't enough, Black Friday could be extended into Saturday. Why does it have to start earlier?

My husband and I saw an ad for a 4K ultra TV for a great price at Best Buy. It's an advance notification of a Black Friday deal. I'm voting with my dollars and deciding NOT to purchase that TV. I am not going to reward Best Buy for a practice I find reprehensible. I won't shop at ANY brick-and-mortar store that starts their Black Friday on Thanksgiving. There are enough stores that are not doing that and still providing excellent sales.

Thank you for resurecting this thread Jodygk...

Yet again, it looks like Amazon is going to get the bulk of my Christmas dollars and Best Buy (among others) will get none. I will do some brick and mortar shopping at Lowes and Home Depot, as they at least have the decency to respect the Thanksgiving holiday.

There is a new retail November consumer day.... Best Buy just missed it.  It's called "singles day".
