Another Elite Tier for 5K Plus

Status: Acknowledged

Best Buy should implement another Tier of Elite like Elite Platinum or something like that and give more for buying more. I spend over 7K a year at best buy which is double what the Elite Plus is as of now. Im sure i am not the only one that gets bummed out because there are no more oncentives even though you spend more than most at best buy. I belive that another tier with more incentives will motivate customers to spend more to reach that Tier. I for once will work towards it just like i do with the Elite Plus which ive had for a couple of years. But since i already have what is offered i usually look for other channels to buy stuff from.

This has been suggested in the past numerous times, and the best I can say is that at this time we will not be adding additional tiers to our My Best Buy rewards program.

I think if they did something like that then it should not count for people that buy for business purposes.

Only for home consumer use.

Correct but they should be able to see when is a business account because any reasonable human being will not spend 20k + on electronics. Given that you can now buy appliances bit its once every 5-10 years that you do that.

We just need to get enough people to agree on a new tier so best buy can make it a reality. As of today im already at $6800 in purchases and most times i just look for other channels because its not really giving me anything else at best buy other than a 45day return period. They should have another incentive added to another tier and im sure it will make more people buy more stuff at their stores. Everyone likes to brag about something and this is one of those that you brag about because you have a higher status than most.

Your also getting 5% rewards returns of which I don't know a lot of other electronic retailers.who do that.

If they would keep making a lot more tiers above what they already have it would/could get to the point where they are no losing money on a big purchaser.  However it is also not normal that someone who is not buying for business would spend more than $7K a year, every year, on electronics.

@Rlavielle, I fully agree with Bestbuy needing to expand spending tiers and/or increase perks for customers who exceed the "normal" customers spending thresholds. Offers that entice more spending isn`t that what retail is based upon? But for some foolish reason(s) BB smart suits have lost touch with common/consumer sense and this has allowed other retailers to pass them along with online rivals to gain with real weak "strengths". There`s been numerous ideax that garnered a good amount of support but have been shot down. Unfortunately, once BB becomes desperate then these ideas will become the last ditch efforts hopefully at that point it won`t be too late.
