So in-stores, iPad minis are extremely tight and we frequently have customers that want us to check nearby locations. Its easier and quicker to jump on a computer and check BestBuy.com but a lot of the times if they don't have a Space Gray, for instance, the customers follow-up question is going to be "ok what about Silver?" There should be a way to show "Also Available" on BestBuy.com to toggle between these so you don't have to go to the main search by and key in the query again.
This would work great on items of all sorts like Sonos Play 1's which are available in White/Black, Fitbits which have color variations, iPods, etc. It just seems like this is something that's really begging to be added but hasn't been paid a second mind. Thanks.
Actually that is why I prefer the Core Blue application on ETK or the tablet rather than .com/RSS.
Type iPad mini in the product search and it will show you all the minis and what numbers are in stock in a list view and closest stores that have stock all at once. It works for other products too. Though I would love to be able to use Core Blue on my personal tablet that I bring to work.
Maybe an extra box that displays the skus of simmular items at least on RSS since RSS seems to be more about exact detail of inventory of a single item. But I would also like AoH be split on the main screen into New In Box and Open box rather than following the link. I always check it but some associates don't.
But more than that I would like to see Core Blue optimized a little more. It can be rather slow to load if you are using the ETK version.
And its great that we're referencing internal tools but our most important tool is actually BestBuy.com because it's customer-facing. i'd even go as far as to say on items that are out of stock it would be cool if BestBuy.com just suggested other items that may be in stock automatically. So for instance, in the case of an iPad mini it could be the same size but in a different color or on a computer a similar spec build etc. It just seems like showing me a list of stores that says "Unavailable" is not advantageous because it doesn't offer an alternative means to trying to earn a customer's business and yes sometimes people want specific things but on things like this if you make a customer understand that they're constrained they're usually a little more open (i.e. i've had people pay $100 more for a 32GB because that's what we have in stock today versus waiting 3-5 days for a 16GB model to ship).
This should also be for computer lighting. It would be really awesome like if best buy could get contracts from manufacturers such as IBUYPOWER to have one computer with the same the specs as another in different color lightings. I can't even start to mention the amount of times I have had to purchase liek green lights or something for a client seperate.
