I've noticed that there's been a large focus on used games & there's been several @gamer coupons for used games that have resulted in good deals. But the problem for many is that their local stores don't have a large selection of used games which makes the coupons "useless". Also, when there's deals like buy 2 get 1 free on all used games or buy any used game $30 or more get a free Unlocked membership these are also not enticing if there's little to no game to buy. BestBuy is new to the used game market but if your gonna compete with Gamestop in their backyard you gotta provide the same services.
I agree, the main incentives for me purchasing the Unlocked Gamer's Club memberhip were to get 10% off used games, not too mention the coupon that got my attention in the first place was the one in the Jan/Feb issue for a discount on a used Gears of War 3. I was very dissappointed to find out that NONE of the BestBuys in my city carry used games at all and they only accept trade-ins on previous purchases. I hope the issue can be remedied as I hope to use future used game Gamer Coupons as well as take advantage of the advertised perk of 10% off of used video games.
When they 1st started taking trades it was restricted to previous BB purchases(bad move doesn't work in the used game market) but this has since ended at least that's what I read all the time on CAG.
Yes, I just joined Unlocked on Wednesday based on what I read about it online. Then I find out that not only does my Best Buy store not carry used games but none of the Best Buys on Long Island do, either! Please allow coupons to be used online otherwise I won't renew next year.
I would like the @gamer pre-owned gaming coupons to be useable online also, the best buy stores around my area have very "limited" selection of used games. 2 of the most important benefits of the gamer unlock membership is the 10% off pre-owned game discount and the gaming coupons, without any good selection of used games to buy in store, the benefits are pretty much useless.
The current Mass Effect 3 pre-order $20 gift card and the gaming coupons for new games in the March issue are pretty good though.
I agree completely. Allow the coupons to be used online or at least allow the coupons to be used on in store pickup (making it so it is still "in store")
My local store has a limited selection of games that has gotten much better, but still is rather lacking.
I assume that the reason for them not being used online is because they are universal codes. Basically anyone would be able to type in that code multiple times to get these amazing deals. Simple solution would be to send out one time use codes via email for all Gamer's Club Unlocked members. Or have to make them log into MYRZ.com with a valid RZGCU account to use the code, then make it one use per account.
Both ways cover the store and allow users to use these coupons in a much better fashion
I believe we should be able to use the unlocked pre-owned coupons online as well. I personally live in chicago and wanted to take advantage of the great deals provided by the magazine so I subscribed. Yet the problem is that Chicago Best Buys don't even carry used games. This means a large portion of the coupons I can't even use. It makes it very unfair for those of us who pay full price for the subscription but don't even have access to used games in Chicago.
There's alot of attention in the BB trade in thread but it would much larger if more people could get in on the purchases.

Likewise, this used game sales thread pales in comparison to the @gamer thread so if BB could get this type of focus on their used games/trade-ins pre-orders for new games would also skyrocket.

Now in all fairness, the trade in % deals are good but people getting banned has been a HUGE knock GS is not that restrictive.
I would definitely love to be able to use coupons online!
I would like to add that this would be great for us whose local Best Buys do NOT sell used games due to the pawn shop laws. I have 2 local Best Buys, and neither one is allowed to carry used games. Add that to the horrible selection of used games in my general area (from the inventory checker and shipping availability store lists), and the used coupons are basically useless to me.
