$3500 is a lot to spend throughout the calendar for the average consumer in one store. I've seen topics that gave the idea of an annual membership fee for certain tiered memberships. It would be a great idea to see dollars spent carry over to the next year if you happen to max out the $3500 this year. I know that this year in particular I will max out the $3500 for Elite Plus and the money that is spent during Christmas time will not count toward dollars spent for next year. This would be a great benefit to entice customers to keep spending and a piece of mind knowing their dollars aren't going to waste toward tiered memberships. I hope other customers and My Best Buy members agree!

That is the idea of an annual spending to stay in.
Keep the program as it is.
The next best answer would be to then make a super elite class.
The whole $3,5000 limit is something I personally rarely look at. The tiered membership has some excellent benefits don't get me wrong, but as a small business user and also for my own personal desires/tempations ( cause sometimes I don't need the stuff, but it's just so. very. tempting! ahahah )
But yeah it's something that I rarely look at. I can though see how allowing the spenders who already have reached the maximum limit to start saving for the next year. I could even see a system installed so if you wish to stop at Elite you can, and to start saving up for the next year.
I do though don't believe it should be avle to save for more than that next year.
Allowing the money spent beyond the $3500 to accrue towards Elite/Elite Plus for the next applicable year would be a wonderful idea. In terms of my membership standing, it seems like anything I spend beyond the $3500 is just throwing it away. Even if it was tracked as a running total dollar amount spent and at each MRZ renewal date, (assuming you are already an Elite or Elite Plus member), the applicalble balance is deducted. I.e., I've made Elite plus this year but my total spent keeps accuring (starting over at one dollar once I make the $3500 mark). Presuming I've spent at least another $3500 by my renewal date next year, that amount is deducted from my cumulative total spent and so on. This would allow me to see my remaing amount to spend to make it to the next tier or to be ready for my next renewal.
If they let you 'buy in' to the free shipping and other bennies that Elite/Elite Plus has and let you do something even Amazon doesn't allow with it's Prime service and use gift cards to pay for that buy in then even I might consider this.
But honestly I use most of my tech till it's dying or completely DEAD. Now appliances on the other hand....I might be in the market for a new washer/dryer sooner than later.
But that 10+ year old SDtv in my room? I'll use it till the day I go to turn it on and it just refuses to start up.
If you spend more than the $3500 it should carry over to the next year.
