All New Game Release To Receive And Qualify For Same Benefits

Status: Tell Us More

Could we please have all versions of new game releases, normal, special, deluxe, collectors and so forth supported online and in stores for all pre order, promotional and reward zone offers.

As a passionate game enthusiast I always try and get the collector's edition when ever possible.  Currently when you order online any links for any extra incentives only appear for the normal edition and in stores they typically go by what ever is listed online.  A pre order, is a pre order and regardless of what version you ultimately decided to purchase all versions should receive and qualify for the same benefits.  Why this has not been setup this way all along makes no sense to me.  This would eliminate any confusion and eliminate all required support concerning these issues.

I would guess that some of these "extra incentives" are actually provided by the manufacturer, and they would be the ones determining which version of each game gets them. With that said, I would like to hear from other users on this. Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

The $20 pe-order promo works for all versions of games EXCEPT PC...which is already up as ideax thread here

I think you'd like to see the $20 off ____game be able to wrokd on the CE/SE but the problem with that is the CE/SE have such a large price difference generally. For example, the newest Alines game cost $60 & the CE cost $100 if there was a $20 off coupon you'd like it to work on both versions & so would I but I believe BB won't do it b/c of the price difference. They may do it for specific games but I dn't see this being an across the board thing.

Maybe the full solution can found if BB were to add a Silver tier to the GC which will allow for much larger discounts across the board since they'd receive funding upfront.

Just to clarify I was referring specifically about NEW game releases and the incentives for pre ordering the game.  I do like the coupon idea as well but typically coupons are never really available until some time after a game has been released and there surly wouldn't be a coupon along with the reward zone gamer promotion.

I know the $20 reward zone credit is being supported for all versions but there are still plenty of gamers who don't know this or even know about this forum for that matter.  When it comes to pre order codes for extra in game content like a weapon, character, level etc the linked information only shows for the normal release but not the collectors leaving you wondering if your going to receive them.  By always having the linked information displayed for all versions would eliminate this confusion as well as support concerning these issues.

Now on top of that there also may by additional promotional swag involved like for example a T shirt, hat, key chain, book or in my latest experience a steel case for Dead Island: Rip Tide which you would receive only if you pre ordered the normal or special edition but not the collectors?  Now just think about that...  It's the collector who really would want and appreciate such in item, which is why there buying the collectors edition in the first place.  If it's up to the manufacturer to determine what version will receive what promotional items I guess there's little BB can do about that, or is there?

Several times I have put down the $5 on a pre order to get a bonus item for a normal release, even though I'm purchasing the collectors edition and then just never picked up the pre order for the normal version.  Considering the Dead Island: Rip Tide steel case is still available after pre order, it must not be a very rare item then.  So I don't understand why the collectors edition wouldn't receive this perk.  At the very least if you go in store and pre order a normal game release and are able to leave with the promotional item but are going to purchase the collectors edition.  Then why can't the $5 you put down for the normal edition simply be applied to the collectors edition instead?
