Add pre-order/purchase credit coupons to the GCU(Gamer`s Club Unlocked) welcome kits

I don`t think I`m going out on a limb stating that BestBuy maybe struggling to sell 2 year Gamer Club Unlocked (GCU)subs at face value of $120. And based off the response to the 3rd $60(50% off) since launch it looks like BB is willing to bend in order to have the program progress. By offering either two or three $10 pre-order/purchase coupons or 1-2 $20 pre-order coupons which would be included in the welcome kits going forward BB would be able to sell GCU at full price. The key to these coupons would be allowing the customer to select the titles that they wanna use them on not just the pre-selected list. You`re going to be getting $60 more upfront vs the 50% off so the net loss of the credits would still leave BB with profit & great assurance of the day 1 sales tied to the coupons. And looking deeper into it the mybb certs generated from the sales would lead to further sales down the line too.

Also, consider offering lower credit amounts on PS Vita & 3DS titles maybe 4-6 $5 pre-order/purchase coupons on them. Now I know there`d be a large segment of rightfully upset existing GCU early adopters who`d feel left out in the cold by not getting access to these tremedous offers & I haven`t forgetten them. Allow them the option to pay $50 for their choice of any 3-5 pre-order/purchase coupons they want from $5-$20.

There would be no extension of the GCU subs time by purchasing the $50 coupon set but the early adopters would be able to pay $120 & get a further upgraded coupon set with 1-2 more coupons along with 2 years added on to their existing subs. Run the offer for 30 days & watch GCU subscription rate dramatically rise.

I am not a fan of this idea, I don't understand why someone who has GCU would pay $50 extra just to get some dollar off coupons that would amount to $50 or less.  If they added this benefit to the GCU program then I would just wait until they did another $60 GCU special and renew at that time.  But overall I would much rather have them issue monthly coupons again, I don't care about the magazine but the coupons were the only reason I signed up for the gamers club in the first place.

@qualityman13 what? You`re getting three $20 pre-order coupons so the $50 get you $60 and the ability to select the titles you want. If a person has already purchased 2 or more 2 year subs this is an option for them.

So your saying that I pay $50 and get $10 back to spend? I still don't see how that is a good deal.  I think we should try and get some of the other ideas that have a decent amount of kudos looked at again instead of them sitting in limbo status under the the tell us more section.

No I think you misunderstand the $50 gets you a full welcome kit with the current coupons along with the added coupons sorry I didn`t make that clear earlier. Everyone keeps saying $47.99 + $20 credit is a must buy so for $50 you ensure this happens for 3 games of your choice not limited to BB`s list & you still get the other welcome kit coupons. I do agree other ideax with high kudo totals need to not only get reviewed but there`s alot of gems that need to be put in place. Even with the welcome kit coupons they increased GCU to $120 & reduced the welcome kit coupons it`s so short sighted. I could easily sell $120 subs just off the right set of coupons especially if they`re available on the spot in-store just off what people are buying. There`s already ideax threads for expanding the welcome kit coupons, expanding @gamer coupons & reinventing @gamer into the profitable beast it should be however none have moved.

During a B2G1 $120 subs should be flying off the shelves you could buy 2 sets totalling 6 games. Pickup the sub on Sun or Mon, use the 3 $20 coupons for pre-orders, get the games later in the week saving $48+ tax & earning $60 credit. $108 back on spending $120 meaning GCU only cost $12. But looking at the numbers even deeper the $108 represents 2 more $48 games or 3 if the money is spent in a future B2G1. And the 2x pts on the $312 purchase nets another credit reducing the GCU true cost to $2. The only issue be 3 new releases in one week rarely happens.

I like this idea enuf. I like many niche titles that never make the preorder bonus list. I would def appreciate this flexibility and choice. Got my vote...

The only thing I'd like to see back are the coupons specifically for Gamer's Club UNLOCKED members because quite frankly the generic ones everybody gets now have been lackluster and that's putting it nicely.

They had a $10 off Bioshock Infinite coupon not too long ago. I figured...ok, the game is bound to get a $19.99 sale at least during the coupon's run. BZZZZ. WRONG! For me that's the ONLY thing that kept me buying at BB with the @gamer coupons stacking with the sale prices. Using the coupons just because they were there.....eh....not so much.
