Add Games to Pre Order Promo!!!

Status: Tell Us More

As simple as the title says. Add more games to the $10 promo. Also, GCU members should get more than regular members. Either give GCU members $15 and non GCU members $10 or keep the amount for GCU at $10 and reduce the non GCU to $5. GCU seriosuly needs more value to be a viable service. Since the mag was discontinued, the only benefit is 20% off games, which if u buy most games at release, you get screwed when the price inevitably goes down within 45 days because you can't get 20% off of the price match so you would have literally been better off buying at full price as non GCU member and then price matched the lower price. You would have saved $100 on GCU, still gotten the price match and $10 reward certificate for preordering, gotten more rewards points since the original price would have been higher and gotten more towards your overall limit of keeping your Elite status. Having GCU actually costs me money in the long run. Please people, vote for this idea. We need this to change!!! I'm close to going to Amazon for all my games and movies which is the only things I buy at Best Buy anymore since they have made so many negative changes in the past couple years.

I would love to see this happen!

I do not own nor ever plan to own an xboxone or a ps4. I do however buy a lot of nintendo stuff (and i mean A L O T).

One of the main reasons I got gamer's club unlocked was because I was told I could get $10 reward for preorders. Just to find out that it does not include the one brand of games I actually purchase.

Nintendo has a nice lineup coming in 2015 and I am planning on buying them all. However, I will purchase them at the retailer that gives me the best offer. While the 20% off is nice, I can just wait till the game drops in price and price match assures I will get 15-25% off anyways. But that little bonus $10 rewards..that is why I would purchase games at bestbuy. Together those two offers entice me enough to only buy games from best buy.

In the past GCU members actually did get more at $20 in rewards vs regular member that got $10.  Back then we did not have 20% off all new games though.

This is true himeko123, but we only paid $15 per year back then and only had to buy one game to get our money back. Now, its $120 for two years with no one year option so you must buy 5 games in a year just to get your money back. So if you only buy 5 games (which is a decent amount) then you are better off just buying them at full price and calling in for a price match when they inevitably go on sale for $39.99 within the first 45 days (if you are Elite Plus). I have found that GCU is just paying for price matches ahead of time. I bought games for $48 (after 20% off) then had them price matched against Amazon a few weeks later. They were on sale on Amazon for $45 and Best Buy would not give me the 20% off that price so I only got back $3. I would have gotten the same price of $45 even if I wasn't GCU so what's the point of being GCU? I could have paid $60 to begin with then gotten $15 back and saved the money for the membership. GCU is a ripoff. They need to add more benefits like giving GCU member higher pre-order certs than non GCU members or giving GCU members 20% off of the price matched price when you call for one.
