I would like the ability to pre-order items that are "coming soon" (example: the Kobo Glo) and be notified whe the item is ready to be shipped / picked up at a store so that I can move on with my life and not have to check back at bestbuy.com every day to see if it's out yet.
I wanted the new Turtle Beaches and when I went to my Best Buy, they were sold out. If I would have been able to pre order them, I would have gotten them instead of having to order them online.
I like this idea as well. I am very frustrated Bestbuy Still does not have ANY of the new iMacs available yet. Pre-ordering would be great if they are planning on selling them again so i do not have to keep checking daily. Also, why have the add to cart highlighted when there are no products available, thats another frustrating thing.
Pre-Ordering is a good idea. Being notified when it is available for order is a better idea.
Issues BB can experience with to many Pre-Orders is deciding if they should charge your credit card right away or wait until it is ready to ship. If they wait they will have issues with the funds not being there or cards are expired. They will spend time and resources having associates contact the buyers about making the payment. There are other issues business owners experience with Pre-Orders.
I would say I would like to see Notification when and item is in stock at the Shipping Center and or at a local Store.
If they do Pre-Orders it would be best to set it up so when it physically is invoiced and leaving the manufacturer BB can notify people to Pre-Order. But you are still going to have issues with more people ordering something than will be available.
