A feature to add gift card balances to our accounts.

I don't like how we have to retype our gift card number plus pin each time we want to use our gift cards for online purchases. Can you guys make a feature that will allow us to add our gift card balance like my best buy certificates automatically to our online purchases at checkout?

Overall I do like this idea. I am concerned about problems that might arise by situations where a customer has given a gift card associated with their account to someone else. Would anyone else like to see this idea put into place? Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

Those apps already exist and they work with Best Buy gift cards as you put it ...but...I still cant store my gift cards on Best Buys own app and guess what....I never use the best Buy app as a result. I use the Target app all the time. Just sayin how the app can be improved is all.

Anyway as far as loading these cards to account which would be good, pretty sure the idea is dead as you bumped an almost 2 year old thread which fell under the radar long, long ago. Hope I'm wrong but hopefully a mod shows up to say this is still in a Tell Us More status

Another reason Best Buy is behind; this is a pretty simple request that Amazon has been doing a good while now.

Wow, I am surprised bestbuy doesnt have this feature. I hate carrying all physical gift cards in my wallet, sometimes I lose the cards or forget at home. I use this feature alot in target and amazon.

How is this still not a feature? I have several BB gift cards, some physical and some electronic, and trying to keep track of them is a pain. If I could just add them all to my account as I do for Target, Walmart, etc. it would be a non-issue.

Note that Amazon works a bit differently.  Ideally, the balance wouldn't just be applied as a non-transferable credit to my BB account like it is on Amazon but instead stored as discrete cards in my account that theoretically could be used by someone else as well (e.g. I want to hand my kid a GC he can use in the BB store).  It would just use up the balance on the card as usual and the balance on the card would be reflected in my BB "wallet" as well.  Again, Target and Walmart do this seamlessly; a tech company like BB should be able to handle this.

Let's bump this back up as I just missed getting an Xbox Series X because it took so long for me to add five $100 gift cards at the checkout screen that inventory was sold out by the time I was done.

This was mentioned earlier in the thread: We should be able to add gift cards just as Amazon's gift card can. Add it to your account and the balance is redeemed. That avoids conflicts with giving a physical card to someone else.

In addition, if someone gifts you a digital gift card, you should be able to redeem the code directly to your BB account (copy/paste or click a link) so you don't have to dig up the email later.

I fully agree with being allowed to have our Bestbuy accounts loaded with gift card amounts. Would make transactions smoother in this trying pandemic time. I want the PS5 and with the short time to purchase one, it’s like a no-brainer to have gift card pre-load.

I don't understand how this has been a request for well over 6 years and has yet to be implemented. Especially given the fact that the feature has been offered by other companies for years.

Like one of the previous members stated, this would greatly help when trying to purchase items that are in high demand. Please add this feature.

As a work around I type my numbers into a notebook.txt and I can simply copy and paste them.

SMH that we are still throwing this around. Clearly not gonna happen as I said 6 years ago. Shame Best Buy won't help their gift card buying customers
