20% discount off video game accessories for GCU

20% discount off video game accessories for GCU IMO so this savings would pretty much ensure BB gets the sale. Other retailers & BB do run 10%, 15% & 20% off a few times per yr but it seems like the item(s) you may need/want haven`t broke yet. Or there`s SE/LE that you`re willing to pay for but the promo isn`t in effect.

I did finally hear back on this one and we will not be moving forward with this idea.

If 20% off is too much to upstairs guys, then 10% off all vvideo game accessories makes better sense. But definitely something in regards to accessories being discounted should become a feature of the GCU discount. Maybe 20% off used accessories and 10% off new.

I'm still in what people would not consider the 'last gen'(PS3/360/Wii) and I have more than enough spare controllers for the PS3 to last me till the next next gen more than likely. :-D But 20% off accessories for the average consumer who buys into the GCU would add more value for them. Another plus would be if the 20% stacked with sale prices on those accessories, like the $39.99 price we typically see on Dual Shock 3's every so often, thus making them cost $31.99 after the 20% off.

Not sure if this will happen or not but we are looking into it.

20% off video game accessories would definitely be greatly appreciated, and I'll probably stick to Best Buy for buying accessories for the foreseeable future if this becomes a reality. Smiley Happy

It'd be nice if Nintendo eShop cards, Sony PSN cards, Microsoft XBL cards, and other similar items are included in this 20% off discount as well.

I don't see network cards being discounted that much, it's basically forcing the servicer (PSN/XBL/eShop) to lose money for the sake of a retailer having a sale.  That's why those promos are short-lived.

I'll toss my vote in for accessories.  Here's my method when buying items at Best Buy:  I realize My BB is an incentive program, BUT the points I get on that purchase only add up to a buck or two.  If I can go somewhere else and save even $5-10, if not more, I'll go there (Gamestop and Amazon are usually the ones to steal my business). Rewards points are great and all, but not when I'm paying more money in the long run.  Since we are shelling out $120 for this program, saving on accessories would be an incentive to stay.

@Calilburnus300, even when GS or AMZ has the "better" deal you can price match them at BB & get rz credit plus build towards the extra 10%-25% elite/elite plus perk.

Example, say Amazon matches a BB buy 2 get 1 deal you`ll pay $120 for 3 games vs $96 at BB AND 192(216 w/elite plus) base rz pts. That`s $24 saved & 192/250 rz pts needed for $5 doing this once per yr would be $48 saved & 384 rz pts. New games cost $48 w/GCU plus you`re already sitting on 240(270 w/elite plus) rz pts(assuming you paid full price for GCU) so just by doing 2 deals over 2 yrs at BB you`re already getting a free game & close to $10 credit.

Also, you can still shop elsewhere when a deal can`t be matched earning rz pts in the process just purchase a BestBuy pre-paid visa & use that to pay for the items. If you max out the card you`re getting 205(255 w/elite plus) base rz pts & putting $205 towards elite/elite plus even better if you have to drive to the gamestop the visa can be used to pay for the gas.

Most of the time I can get BB to price match, but they're very picky about doing GS.  Only the store closest to me does it as GS is not officially on their online price match list.  GS lost my business because their reward program wasn't that valuable, I pay for it still solely for the GI magazine.  I found that a year's worth of GS points would maybe get me a 4 pack of AA batteries.  At that point, BB won out.  It's a good program, just not always the most cost-effiicient.  I get what you're saying about the prepaid Visa.  Checked it out just now when I went to go have them correct an error in-store, and the activation fee is roughly the 5 bucks I'd get in rz points, but that's an interesting idea to keep building towards Elite status.  I'll have to keep that one in mind.
