by Retired: Senior Social Media Specialist on ‎02-28-2013 02:25 PM (3,321 Views)

Bright colors and clear sunny skies belie the terror that awaits you in Columbia, the sky city  that plays host to the events of BioShock Infinite, the upcoming title from 2K Games and Irrational Games.

Years of isolation have not been good on Columbia.  You enter the city as Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former Pinkerton agent, hired with the purpose of finding and bringing home Elizabeth, a girl kidnapped and imprisoned in the city 12 years earlier.  In your quest to find her, you also find Vigors, super-human powers that will assist you in your quest.  After finding Elizabeth, she becomes your ally as you make your way through the city.  Elizabeth has powers of her own, chief among them the ability to manipulate tears in time and space, sometimes creating anachronistic elements within your surroundings, and others assisting you in defeating nearby enemies.

BioShock Infinite takes flight 3/26/13.

Season Pass Explained

by Senior Social Media Specialist Senior Social Media Specialist ‎02-21-2013 11:16 AM - edited ‎02-21-2013 11:42 AM (2,621 Views)

Kyle:  Hey Bill, there seems to be a lot of people viewing this thread on how Season Passes work.  Maybe we should blog about it and try to explain how they work?

Bill:  That’s awesome Kyle!  Wait…what’s a Season Pass?  If it means that I can take a pass on this Minnesota Winter, sign me up.

CODBO2 SP.JPGKyle:  Ha-ha, no Bill, you silly goose!  A Season Pass allows gamers who really enjoy a specific game to keep the game going through additional downloadable content.  For example, if people bought the Borderland 2 Season Pass, they would have gotten access to four brand new individual add-on content campaigns as they are released, which featured several hours of gameplay introducing new adventures, allies, enemies and environments.  Plus, it’s still available for the PC!

Bill:  I get it Kyle, so what you’re saying is that I can get all this incredible content, use it to completely pwn n00bs and then get told over voice chat to do anatomically impossible things to myself?

Kyle:  …um sure Bill, if that is what you want to get out of it, be my guest.

Bill:  So, if I buy a Season Pass for a game, do I get the stuff that they have already released for it?  Cause if I don’t, I might have to issue a sternly worded letter.

Kyle:  Oh Bill, you and your curmudgeonly ways!  I love how you play the old man displaced in modern times, but you do have a valid question.  The answer is yes, you do get the previous content released plus any future content that will be released.  For example, Call of Duty: Black Ops II has a Season Pass available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.  Right now, the Revolution DLC is available for Xbox 360 (with the PC and PS versions being released around and is included in the Season Pass.  In addition, Season Pass holders will get three more Call of Duty Black Ops II downloadable content Map Packs, delivering a variety of new content, including Multiplayer and Zombies 2025 playable content as it becomes available.

Kyle:  Which would you rather do, buy each pack as it comes out for more money, or simply download it as it becomes available for one low price up front?  Each pack will run about $15 individually or you could get the season pass for generally around $50.  Do the math, Bill.

Bill:  But math is so hard Kyle.  It makes my head hurt and I get all pukey.

Kyle:  Needless to say Bill, it’s a great deal.  You can also get Map Packs for Halo 4, Battlefield 3 (PC and PS3) and Medal of Honor: Warfighter (PC and PS3).  So, what do you think?

Bill:  Well Kyle, you’ve got me convinced; now how do we let all the gamers out there know about this chocolaty gaming goodness?

Kyle:  We just did Bill…we just did.

In 2023 New York is ravaged by war.  At the start of Crysis 3, it has been 24 years since then, and rather than being rebuilt, the site is now reclaimed by nature.  If the terrain is rugged, the enemies are more-so.  Cephs, the alien invaders who wreaked havoc on your home are still here, and as powerful as ever.

Pirate Vs.. Ninja.  It’s practically an age-old question and has likely been a topic of discussion for you and your buddies while waiting for a multiplayer map to load.  Konami has planted their flag firmly in the ninja camp with their latest Metal Gear outing.  This is no normal ninja either, this is cyborg mercenary Raiden.  Yep, we are talking about a cyborg ninja.  I’d take that over pirate any day!
