Move aside Fortnite! The true king of battle royal has finally arrived! The most rewarding and addictive shooter of the year finally transitions from the pc master race and into our living rooms. Player Unknowns Battlegrounds is entering Xbox’s game preview program and is finally available to purchase! (hyperlink) PUBG is also getting the Xbox One X enhancement treatment with upgraded visuals, improved framerate and HDR to boot. If you’ve ever had the itch to take down 99 players in an all-out brawl, then this game is perfect for you.
Become the Champion
PUBG (Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds”) is the culmination of almost half a decade of work across multiple games by Brendan Greene “Player Unknown” himself. Starting off from humble beginnings as a side project for the critically acclaimed Day Z mod for ARMA 3 back in 2013 to having a standalone physical release from the backing of a triple A studio is nothing short of miraculous. Just like Greene, you too can become the champion of the battle arena. With PUBG making its first console debut exclusively on Xbox One every gamer will be on equal footing using similar specs and controllers, so make your first impressions count. I for one am looking forward to eating my chicken dinner with the tears of players who couldn’t obtain the number one title.
Game Preview
PUBG is the next major release in the game preview program for Xbox. Gamers are to be warned that the game is currently not finished in its current state and bugs and crashes may be present. On the flip side those who choose to dive in early, get to experience the game throughout its development and earn exclusive early adopter items, awards and experiences. Plus, you get the ability to purchase the game at a lower price than when it finally releases to the public. Free updates, early access and the ability to play the most anticipated titles early are huge selling points for any gamer to get into the game preview program. PUBG will be my third pick up from the Game Preview program and I look forward to seeing what else Microsoft can bring to the table.
