Relive your childhood mayhem with the return of a beloved franchise that has long been dormant. Burnout was a cult classic staple in the realm of arcade racers in the 6th and early 7th generation of consoles. Until, Forza Horizon took the main stage it was my most played racing series to date. Burnout catered to the casual audience with smooth controls, spectacular visual, and destructive mayhem. With each entry it continued to push the bar further and revolutionized the arcade racing genre. Without Burnout I can’t really imagine what the genre what look like today but with Burnout Paradise Remastered you don’t have to! The king of arcade racing returns on modern consoles today!
Nostalgia at its finest
It’s hard to believe that Burnout Paradise is over 10 years old. Released back on January 22nd, 2008 Burnout Paradise moved the series into an open world setting. Changing up the formula gave the series a breath of fresh air and allowed for a great expansion of ideas and events. Over 76 cars were introduced in the base game and each return in updated 4K! Taking a trip down to Paradise City was such an incredible joy as it took me back to simpler time in the world of video games. With updated visuals, better resolution and the soundtrack remaining intact, Burnout Paradise returns in all its glory.
Fan Favorite Modes Return
Crash Mode, Marked Man, Road Rage, Burning Route and more take center stage. Feel the thrill of being the marked driver with AI and real-life opponents trying to take you out before your car can make it through the finish line. Or take your Nakmura SI – 7 out for a drag race in Burning Route to beat the clock. Criterion has spared no expense in making sure each game mode transfers over perfectly in the smooth 60 FPS upgrade that this package delivers.
