Return to the vast open-world of Far Cry in the upcoming 5th installment of the series. Releasing on March 27th, you’ll step into the shoes of a Montana Sheriff’s Deputy who will square up against the fanatical dooms day cult, Eden’s Gate. Lead by Joseph “The Father” Seed and his children, Eden’s Gate has all of Hope County held hostage under the threat of death if they refuse to join.
Fresh, new setting:
Historically, Far Cry games have been set in mostly tropical and exotic locations. Far Cry 5 tosses this formula out the side of the airplane, dropping you off in rural America for the first time. Hope County, Montana is a breathtaking open-world home to three distinct regions with their own individual beauty and splendor, which also just so happen to be the homes to a fanatical doomsday cult
New Threats:
A Herald of the Eden’s Gate Cult controls each of the three regions, whom you must defeat along your journey to free Hope County. As you disrupt cult activates while assisting The Resistance, you’ll increase the Resistance Meter in the region, culminating in a dramatic confrontation with the controlling Herald.
Along your way in aiding The Resistance you can find and recruit unique “Guns for Hire” to watch your back, or “Fangs for Hire”, allowing you a K-9, or other animal companion. If playing with your friends is more your style, Far Cry 5 boasts two-player co-op across all missions of the game, to greatly increase your chances of survival.
But fanatical cultists aren’t the only threats you have to worry about in Far Cry 5. Throughout the majestic Montana Wilderness, you’ll also find a wide variety of animals who may be just as interested in hunting you, as you are them.
Diverse Activities:
When you’re not fighting alongside The Resistance to liberate Hope County there’s plenty to keep you busy. Looking for that next mighty trophy? Spend time hunting the diverse wild game inhabiting the Montana wilderness. Need a quiet break from all the mayhem? Sit along a winding stream or picturesque lake for a spot of fishing. Or, if you’re still looking for some action, take to the sky in the Wingsuit.
Getting around, in style:
With an open-world as wide and expansive as Hope County, you’ll need a way to get around, and Far Cry 5 doesn’t disappoint. An unparalleled variety of vehicles await you, ranging from the humble buggy to classic Muscle Cars, off-road trucks, aircraft, and even the farm equipment from the fields around you. Whatever your next mission may be, you’ll never run out of creative opportunities to tackle any situation.
