I currently have a Lenovo Smart Display and a Google Home - and I do like using both. I use the smart display mainly in the kitchen as there's a screen to provide recipe help and even news/entertainment. My Google Home sits in my bedroom and I use it to mainly adjust my lights and thermostat.
I'm thinking of getting a smart home device for a relative but I've yet to decide which. Should I get the newer Lenovo Smart Display or stick to a traditional Google Home? I'm leaning towards the smart display because it can do more but I'm not a 100% sure yet. Any advice?

Welcome to the forum, al9107,
It’s very nice of you to be buying a smart home device for your relative, and I can understand wanting to make sure you get the right one for them. It truly depends on what you think they’ll use the device for, as both options will work very similarly. They’ll just need the Lenovo Smart Display if they’re wanting to view videos, especially if they are big into following recipes. While instructions are always nice, it’s sometimes necessary to get a visual on the more complicated steps.
If you’re ultimately unsure, that’s okay. It looks like the Lenovo 8” Smart Display currently comes with a free Google Mini. Just be sure to take advantage of the offer quickly, as most of our promotions typically run Sunday through Saturday.

Cool sounds like a great deal, I'll be sure to check out the offer asap! I'm probably leaning more towards the LSD then since it's great help in the kitchen and is also compatible with YouTube. I've been using (or perhaps overusing haha) these functions on my own LSD that I've got.
