If you only want the lights to sit behind your TV specifically, you should only need to purchase the Philips – Hue Lightstrip Plus starter kit. It includes a 6.6-foot (80 inches) strip, so it’ll actually be longer than the length of your TV. If you would like to have the strip go along the base of your TV stand or encompass your entire home theatre set up though, you can always purchase an extension to ensure you’re fully covered (it adds an extra 40 inches). Please keep in mind this extension will not work by itself, so be sure to purchase the starter kit for full functionality.
