When I was a poor college student I had a Sharp Microwave. It worked really well. I had it for some 10 years until my new wife said it was to small and her brother needed one.
Thats when we replaced it with our current Panasonic.
Sharp is the brand of my convec microwave and I agree. Out of his price range for the convec feature though.
The fire issue was real with GE and Kitchenaid. See Consumer Reports. I personally would buy another GE though.
