Asus axe11000 WiFi 6E router inquiry

Will best buy be carrying the Asus AXE11000 router soon? I have one ordered through Amazon but would prefer to support best buy.

Re: Asus axe11000 WiFi 6E router inquiry

The AXE11000 certainly appears to be a game changer.  Best Buy carries most ASUS products, they probaly will carry the AXE11000

According to the ASUS web site they are not selling it via BB. On Amazon they are available via ASUS direct.

Due to the microchip shortage it may be awhile before they are available.

If you managed to get your hands on one via Amazon (ASUS Store) you may want to hang onto it.

Thanks Bob. I appreciate the response. Yeah I'll keep my Amazon order, which is still out a couple weeks. I kinda figured Asus was limiting who it could effectively distribute to, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask about potential upcoming releases to BB.

Re: Asus axe11000 WiFi 6E router inquiry

The microchip shortage I mentioned is probalby playing a large part in distribution right now.

I also prefer to buy my electronics from BB, that way if there issues right away it is easier to return.

Before I replaced it I had a Netgear Nighhawk AC1900 with a new one and ended up going to a  mesh wifi system.

I could stream music while mowing the lawn and get three houses away before losing the signal.  I can only imagine what the AXE11000 is going to be able to do.

I ended up getting a MESH system instead. You have your main router connected to your modem.  Then you have other units spread throughout your house. You can even connect ethernet to the satellites.

For my gaming computer I decided to go all out and purchased CAT6 Ethernet and running it from a switch by my modem direct to my computer.

Re: Asus axe11000 WiFi 6E router inquiry

Yeah I too prefer buying from best buy for that reason and that they've generally been great at customer service for me.

I am also coming from a netgear (AC2300 in my case). I've had it for a number of years and I think I got a lemon unit cause after about the first year, it's had quite a few problems, even after factory resetting it multiple times. Basic things like name settings of devices are clearly getting corrupted in memory, showing up parts in the next devices fields. Other things like network speeds slowing to a crawl and needing to be rebooted several times a week. I never had those level of issues with my asus before it.

I'm thinking going back to asus is preferable and I think the axe11000 will be a nice, future proof upgrade, especially with the gaming features.

I've got a bit of a fun setup. I have the router in the middle of the house with Cat6 going to the modem. Then I have another Cat6 from the router to a managed switch with a number of physical devices (more than the 4 ports). I think once asus upgrades the firmware of the axe11000 to support the 6ghz backhaul better, I'll get a second or a next gen 6ghz mesh device. I expect the one will be sufficient for my immediate needs.
