Anyone using Vacuum Robot cleaners?

Want to get a robot vacuum cleaner that can be connected via voice assistant, preferable Google assistant. Own a Lenovo Smart Display(google assistant) which is connected to a few home minis.

Device suggestions that are on discounts would be greatly appreciated Smiley Happy

Re: Anyone using Vacuum Robot cleaners?

I purchased a Roomba for my house in August.  I selected the iRobot brand that I was able to purchase at Best Buy.

I reviewed a number of brands and talked to a number of people tha own them. The overall consensus was iRobot

However you may end up paying hundreds more for the connected feature.  In reality it is a matter of walking over and pressing the big button on top of the Roomba and walking away.

I would see the advantages of the iRobots that do room mapping.  You can use your wi-fi connection to program it to clean specific rooms on specified days.

There is a model that has a secondary waste bin that automatically empties it.

Re: Anyone using Vacuum Robot cleaners?

As a side note. I was not convinced a Roomba would be a good idea. But I am really impressed at how will it does.  You can see by the tire tracks on your carpet that it really is covering your room.

In our situation to make the best of it we do have to do a little prep work.

Put the dining room chairs upside down on the table.

Pick up the doggy bed.

We have a throw rug in our living room it gets caught in that we have to pick up.

But then we just press the button and go on our way. When we get back it is docked in the charging station and full of dirt and pet hair.

Is the prep work so that it would be more clean, or does is it to make the robot function better? Sounds like quite the prep work. But thanks for the input, definitely checking roomba out!

Re: Anyone using Vacuum Robot cleaners?

The prep work is so that the cleaner does not get blocked off from an area.  If i didn't pick up the chairs around the kitchen table it would not get anything under the table.

You will need to move cords out of the way.  If you have rugs thats don't lay flat on the edges you many need to pick them up.

Move the dog bed which is normally in front of the TV stand etc.
